got a message today with a picture of all my new bits on my engine, the fella who is doing it is great, how many garages would do that, he has told me his progress and also showed me proof of the new parts fitted, top top bloke. hopefully have it back the end of the week, he was waiting on the new clutch to turn up and then he will fit the engine back. got to go to work on my bike tomorrow, haha that will be fun especially the trip back after 12 hours of slog, then got to do it again on wednesday, god i cant wait to get it back

Think ive seen them on mondeo st oc its quite nasty ding plus tyres mixed make and you can get new alloys for 320 delivered so cost to fix the ding plus new tyres isnt worth it imo

Ste mine is always on the road, just cannot use its potential. The decat has made a difference though, sounds meatier (not diesel like at all) and picks up earlier and harder (ps mine has been on the road longer than yours )
Mine is getting air into the fuel lines, I got a hose from the filter to pump and cut it up and added a clear section, I can see the air bubbles. I had a kink in a hose from the swirl pot to the main line to the engine and since I straightened it out the air is less. Ideally I want to replace the swirl pot lid, and also this hose and I think that will solve my problem. Luckily I have the torque app on my phone so I can drive around the problem as I roughly know the fuel pressure when the problem occurs

was promised an extra 5k (turned down the opportunity for a job with a company closer to home for less basic per month but with an annual bonus which would have meant more per annum). Instead at present I got an extra £800 ish although my boss told me that the other negotiations are still ongoing

full system isnt too restrictive, only the back box and a lot of people just cut them off! Decat gives it a nice sound, have a feeling a top mount has gone now though on mine as past 2 days getting a banging noise not droplinks!
Worse car I have ever had this one, it must be the friday afternoon car

dont think my computer mpg clock is right as i brimmed the tank then did 294 miles of town driving and my computer said 32.5 mpg
i brimmed it again took 36 litres so that converted into galons is 7.93
so 294 devide into 7.93 = 37mpg
going to test again once i fill up again currently dont 200 mile on half a tank

well only jgm got back to me and he cant do it till next week, dave the fella who did the hg has recommended a fella whos rollers we used today, he has mapped loads of scoob and has a good rep, graham the mapper will e mapping my car this thrsday, he does about 2 hours on the rollers an an hour on the road. he said the detting was bad and the turbo seemed very severe which backs up how it drives as it doesnt seem very smooth, i told him i want a good reliable map with the smothness but also still to have the power, it hit 338hp on the rollers today but ran like a bag of sh1te

think ill call the fella tomorrow or thursday to see what hes going to do exactly, ive asked for smoothness more than anything but still with the power and speed, i find the current map is all or nothing, sort of scares you at first as it throws you back. i could do with the throttle sharpening up a bit as well as its fly by wire one so not your normal cable. i reckon he'll take the power down to roughly 320 ish but im not arsed as its torque you want. the 2.5 is great for the torque so dont think ill have an issue, was a but surprised he said the duel maps wasnt available on the hawkeye though, but hey realistically how often would i use it like jay said

can you not get the money for the mapping back from the garage where you bought it? Also has the mech got the timing spot on as one of the cam pulleys is on cam when lined up so can move so that the timing is out slightly.
The det is a worry though, if its been detting for a while then there could be a possibility of rod / piston damage?

JGM mapped mine along with Andy C. Andy is a very clever chap and probably saved my scoob engine as he was sat in the back whilst mapping and it was him who smelt coolant (turned out the rad cracked its end plates). Luckily he knows the guy who owns scoobytechnix (before they opened) and he had scooby spares then so I rang him and collected a rad the following day. Car wasn't 100% finished on the map side of things but drove a heck of a lot better, and more miles to the tank as well (only got 180 ish per tank pre mapping!)

Everything the mech has done is spot on, its the map that's no good mate.
Whilst the engine was out he checked everything, including the pistons and everything is spot on

fooking hell jay your a right dark cloud aint ye
i trust the guy, its been on the rollers and the fella would of known if it was simply the timing, the engine has been checked out and is ok now. the engines are not as unreliable as what people make out
you get back to fixing your mondeo

lol not meaning to be a doom monger, if it was me and with the history you know about (head gasket twice etc), I would be having my doubts and would probably get rid and replace it.
My mondy will never be fixed The noise it is making now is random sometimes it does it and then stops whilst still travelling, sometimes it doesnt do it at all! Need to get it on the axle stands at weekend and put it in gear and see if I can get the noise with it not under load. Got sjy hd being installed though on sat and out on sunday so may not get chance

I would sell mine but wouldnt get anything worthwhile for it unless I stripped it, but luckily cheap enough to repair (assuming you know what the problem is )
