i just think that it would have been much better to test the car before you tinkered with nearly every part. Make sure the car is in good health, its now near impossible to tell as you may have already done damage to it that you otherwise wouldnt have by leaving most of it alone!

Personally I'd refit the 380's untill you get the funds for a remap. I think a decent remap should get you low 300's

im soon to be getting an remap bourd for my ecu, which should be great for this ecu. but even the place i got the phase 2 adapters from never said any thing about these yellow things cousing any problems, infact i was told that if im getting better injectors. 840cc one, as the 440cc arnt much different to that of the 380cc ones. + the only way i can take them injectors out is if i take the inlet manifold off again...
there must be something i can do to sort this car out. with out getting an apexi. there must be an ecu out there that runs these injectors + all the other mods i have with out making trouble. any ideas.

No ECU for a Pre96 runs 440's as standard. Not even the STi's
440's were first fitted in 97/98 STi V3's IIRC, which is why phase 1 or 1.5 440's are so rare.
Hence why you have Phase 2 440's from an MY99/00.
A 97/98 ECU will not fit into a Pre96 car. So in answer to your question "there must be an ecu out there that runs these injectors". No there isn't as standard unless it's aftermarket or the ECU chip has the right Injector scaling.

Your car will be OK to drive off boost, I've driven my car when jumping from 380's to 550's and it handled it fine, although I did get an adjustable FPR.
I think if funds are tight them an adjustable FPR can be had for £80, then you can adjust the pressure down so the 440's to simulate 380's. You will need to check AFRs and knock though
