JB, yes see what you mean. I think it is 60% rw but can go up to 85%(?according to todays Autotrader)

Audilover what makes you think there will be a coupe? If there is a 450BHP version it will come when the model is at the end of its life to try and keep sales up with a new version is imminent

The RS4 is split 35 front, 65 rear.

Are you sure???? I thought all new performance audis were split 60 / 40. This will hopefully eliminate some of the understeer but they are still very nose heavy. They are trying to sort this by putting the engines further back in the next models.

'audi describes as asymmetric dynamic distribution....normal conditions 60/40 split...but this can change to as much as 65% to the front or 85% to the rear depending on what the cars various sensors think works best'

Autocar GT Road test 7/3/2006 (It also set a new record for a wet lap)

Stirling Audi don't yet have a demo on the road.

Edinburgh Audi aren't planning to.

How to get a test drive?

Looks really nice. A little 'square' but very purposeful and muscular. Recaro seats with inflating side bolsters very sexy! It was in Misano(sp?) red which suited it. Looks better than the photos. He managed to talk me into a test drive Saturday week! I'll let you know what it was like.

ps very expensive though, £50k!!!
I could see myself in one of these, I really could!!

Unfortunately, on a humble Dr's salary, I can also see myself needing to rob a bank to acquire the 50k needed!!

Because audi are making a A5 which is basically a coupe version of the A4 on a all new chassis and it shall get the RS treatment early in life roumoured to be near launch to create a bit of hype. The engine is also rumoureded to get a bit of sprucing up.

We have...... but private practice is where the *real* money is to be made and its quite varied depending on your specialty (geriatrician vs. orthopaedic surgeon for example !)...... I also suspect that ns04 is not a consultant at 29yrs of age (correct me if I'm wrong !).....

Don't the new contracts give quite substantial NHS workload/hours so that if you do private stuff you are eating into leisure time?

Correct, I'm a lowly Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in a school of Psychology............. 8 years of studying and some dustmen get paid better than I!

Why am I laughing?!?!?!

Still, it keeps the scooby in optimax for the moment.

Funny, that's what my GP said when I went for my 1st appointment after graduating.....wasn't quite sure what to say to that! I think you're ok with medics as long as you don't call them dentists, who -in medical student terms- are simply, "failed medics"!

The upside is that the layperson i.e. Car salesman thinks that all PhDs must be loaded, so its fairly easy to brag a test drive. Not a good idea to put yorself in temptations ways though, lest you end up pondering how much you'd get for a Kidney etc... Maybe Dr. DS could help me with that!

LOL, if I introduce myself as "Dr" for the purpose of blagging test drives, they often call you "Mr" anyway. To be fair, I'm not really blagging, I just used to feel that way! I only test things I would consider buying, but they usually don't match my expectations.

I feel like a bit of a **** introducing myself as Dr ( outside of a hospital).

I hope you have a drive of this car John as I'd be interested to see what u think. You're right though an Evo8/9 will provide same/more thrills for half the price

I agree, but when you look a bit young some car salespeople make you feel like a chancer. Porsche were very good though, although I did dress as I would for work. I've previously been elsewhere (BMW dealers) to look at cars to actually buy there and then and been given all the "you don't belong here" messages!

Wearing a tweed jacket with leather elbow patches, no wonder the BMW dealers looked at you in a funny way

I got that in a Skoda garage

Protesting that I was a Dr would have only got me "you don't belong here, Dr" looks!!! I don't generally flash the title, it's poor form, but it's on the driving licence so they find out one way or another during test drives. I've been told I look young for my age and I got my Ph.D 3 years back, so certain individuals finding out may have been beneficial to my blagging a test drive of nice cars prospects, who knows? Subaru were great, didn't even ask me to sign anything to take the car out!
