Took my ears days to recover from that.
That was a few years ago now. They used to have about 3 themed all-nighters each year, one of which was the beachparty complete with sand and a paddling pool on stage They had a wet t-shirt competition at the same time and as I recall the girl who showed the most won

Scoobynet Goth night ?? LOL.

If you watch the Field of The Nephilim DVDs you can just about see me and a mate in the crowd covered in flour and water !

Yeah the male vocals are not as good on Lacuna Coil. Seriously check out Monnspell next, very good. A bit heavier and very slick.

The goth scene is not as big as it was but its still there just more underground.

If you check out www.netgorth.org.uk it lists the venues and eventsd and you'll be surpirsed how much alternative stuff is gping on on your own doorstep !

I'm seeing the Tiger Lilies at the RFH on the 17th of March. OK its not goth but its goth interest and if you like the macbre you must see a play call Shock Headed Peter if it ever come back. Music by the Tiger Liilies is superb.

I am now off to listen to some Velvet Acid Christ.

Oh did any of you check out Combichrist yet ? If anyone wants any recommendations just let me know !

Yeah they rule, I have all their albums and have seen em live a couple of times.

I'd still prefer to watch Amy Lee than Peter Steele any day of the week though.

Type O' are one of the few bands that I haven't seen live! (Makes note in diary to sort that out!!)

(I'd still take Cristina over both Amy and Pete )

Type O are a weird band to hear live. All their guitars/basses are detuned to play much lower notes, so they are unbelievably deep and heavy. You feel it in your legs and lungs rather than hear it.

You don't really get the same effect listening to the CDs as most hifi's don't have the dynamic range to go that low. I never really rated them until I heard them play at Donington.

Btw Pete Steele is bloody huge in real life, got to be nearly 7ft tall and build like a brick $hithouse.

Hey Evanescence Fans!

The announcement you've been waiting for has finally arrived! Evanescence's upcoming release, THE OPEN DOOR, will be in stores on Oct, 3. 2006!

Following the multi-platinum, worldwide success of FALLEN, THE OPEN DOOR is an ideal showcase for the band's inevitable personal and professional growth, with songs of introspection, longing, doubt, self-respect and ultimately, empowerment and anticipation.

Recorded in Los Angeles at The Record Plant with long-time friend and producer Dave Fortman, the album is defined by Amy Lee's beautiful melodies, profound lyrics, stunning vocals and poignant piano, which fuse with Terry Balsamo's urgent, yet intricate guitar playing, to form a remarkable, ethereal blend perfectly rooted in the band's rock and classical sensibilities.

Amy Lee shared some thoughts about the upcoming release:

"The making of this record has been really intense, but I've come out feeling purified. I've grown so much since 'Fallen,' and Terry is the perfect writing partner -- I feel like I've been lifted up to a whole new level of inspiration and possibilities. After all the things we've seen over the past couple of years, beautiful and tragic, in the end I'm really grateful. It has made us create music I could not be more in love with."

Keep an eye on Evanescence.com for more info as it becomes available. Now you can stay on top of the latest Evanescence news while you are on the move! Leave us your mobile phone number and you will receive mobile messages about the band!

Stay tuned -

Cool, wonder why I never got the email - it's not been filtered as spam and I haven't unsubscribed. Oh well, tis good news.

stunning vocals and poignant piano,
Great, I prefer their stuff that's like that to the more "rock" sounding stuff.
