But don't worry Pete, not everyone can be a top class engineer. Just be happy with your lot

Pete,
Ive owned 2 impreza's, an MY00 and an MY03 STi, both had knocklinks fitted, both have at one point flickered into the red showing signs of det, unfortunately, my hearing doesnt cover the high amplitude needed to hear the sort of det you can hear (do you have a cold black nose and floppy ears? ) but you are correct in part about the ecu retarding, yes it does, and my MY03 STi does it alot better than the MY00 ever did, BUT only in the given, set parameters that are programmed in.
You should understand that your PC can only do so much, if it wasnt programmed to run a dvd, would it? and for engine stress, if your car acutally did over 50mph it probably would be
Have a good un Pete

Of course I don't have a knocklink, you mononeuroned simpleton! what would be the point of that? I didn't mention knocklinks in my post to why quote it, you empty-skulled microcephalic plodder.
I think the knocklink is retarding you, bright spark
I'm merely commenting upon aspects of Lewis's techniques of argumentation that I have noticed over the years.

I manage someone who is just like Pete in his arguments, always thinks he is right and quotes others' mid-statement sentences as hard facts. It is quite interesting to compare approaches.
I have found that the main cause is insecurity, mixed in with a bit of paranoia.

In other words nothing useful to say but dig at P.S.Lewis.
Lets jump on the band wagon

Not quite! We have another one jumping on the anti Pete band wagon without making a valid point about the issue in question!

Why are you so interested in Pete! Get a life!
The poster was interested in knocklinks, advise him on them, let him make his own mind up about P.S.Lewis.

Classic example of conflict in Pete's arguments:
1) Pete will say that Subaru are a massive company that know how to build cars so any attempt to make an improvement is futile (eg use a better oil or use a knocklink)
2) He will then say that subaru have not set there dipstick right and that you should always fill the oil to the bottom of the empty-full segment on the dipstick.
Its a case of rules that suit him, and not proper arguments.
The main problem is lack of experience. If he had even once sat in a modified scoob, or even drove his car over 4000rpm i would give him a bit more respect.

1. Yes agree with
2. I said the level should be on the empty, or very near - overfilling these cars with Oil is NOT good ............... or doesn't your COCKLINK tell you that!?
You'll have to do better than that to compete with me young man!!

Point two in Bubba's summary Pete..... I'm not a bandwagon jumper; I expressed my opinion at the beginning so I dont feel the need to repeat it now. It's ironic, isn't it?
