And last time I checked, the 2.5 323 is slower. Point being..The thread title "WRX outpaces an e36 323i Coupe. " is not surpising, if a lowely XR3 could keep up!

The 323i was a 170bhp 2.5 litre with reduced bhp from the older 192 bhp 325i.
Stock E36 325i with 192bhp versus a stock 130bhp XR3i, I'd say the BMW would be quicker though

Last time I checked E90 generally, was a heavier car...infact 330 E90 is only a few kgs lighter than a 530

Well the e46 325 tips the scales at around 1550kg depending on spec, e90 probably follows suit. Don't need to rely Autocars tittle tattle for that lot...it's all on BMW's website
