Danes upset Islam bigtime
I'm not in to religion one bit, i couldn't give a toss what anyones beliefs are, thats their business but to inflict it one others isn't on.
I don't know if anyone has it in their local area, most places have them, mad people in the middle of the town centre shouting about how great their god is!!!, well he can't be that great because the world's in **** state.
It's all bollocks, and for the people willing to blow themselves up, well what can you say, apart from are you mad....to which the reply is no, just dedicated to a cause. WHAT THE ****!!!

Iran has a nice big juicy "Trillion" dollar oil pipe running through the middle of it. Funny how Iran is in the news all the time isn't it. America is threatening action because of there supposedly nuclear weapons program.
Bit like the Weapons of Mass destruction in Iraq. They're there somewhere, right ????
PS. I do not, and did not believe in the war in Iraq, because it was a false war, purely for America's gain (oil). Plus the Billions our government have spent, would have been better spent on this country.

Well, why can't we leave "them" alone ? (apart from needing their 99 RON etc
)For a true Subaru enthousiast, fighting det is our holy grail, isn't it

a lot of evidence points to the WMD being shipped to syria pre-invasion. just as saddam flew his precious soviet and french-supplied air force to iran before GW1. just ask the UN weps inspection team and don't believe everything that blinkered, biased anti-american **** robert fisk spouts in the independent.
it's not ALL about oil, that's just naive. part of it's for oil sure, the other part is serious realpolitik about the proliferation of terrorism; keeping the worst weapons out of the hands of those who would randomly and happily murder you and your family as part of some loopy and meaningless intifada against the infidel. we now live in a brave new world of asymmetrical warfare: the cold war was simple and comfortable compared to what's happening now.
keep a balanced head on your shoulders. and if you think mahmoud ahmadinejad is a just another poor, hard-done-by, victimised middle-eastern leader facing the wrath of american hegemony, then think again. he's also a dangerous fundamentalist madman trying to get his hands on the big stick and kickstart a middle eastern nuclear arms race. do you really want to see that? listen to the IAEA - if you can get over your CIA-conspiracy mindset - what it has to say is truly frightening.
[rant over]
time to go out for the evening. have a very pleasant weekend ;-)

On a different tack, I believe the fanatics (for want of a much better word), should they manage to kill every last infidel, would only then turn their hatred on someone else. They are only fundamentalist in that they are fundamentally evil and/or psychopathic. Islam is just a tool for them in the same way as a football match is a tool for a violent hooligan. The truly evil will always try to find an outlet for their need; p****files sadly work hidden in schools & children's homes etc. etc, m*rderers fly to Iraq & Afghanistan to commit or incite heinous acts as insurgents.
It ain't rocket science.
If only the press would disassociate the evil fringes from the religions they purport to belong to, then maybe we could become more tolerant of each other's beliefs and even start to respect one and other.
Just my humble point-of-view.

I would think that those who advocate terrorism in the name of the religion are probably in a position of power which cannot be coped with by the moderate leaders who might even be in personal danger if they were to try to stop them. There could be all sorts of reasons to prevent the moderates from doing what they want for all we know.
Once there used to be something called "tact". Don't see much of that any more. People are too keen to jump on the bandwagon and say and do things which can cause unecessary distress to others purely for their own selfish reasons. Either to make capital out of it for monetary reasons or maybe just in an attempt to bolster up their own deficient personalities.
In the days when Tact still existed, people were more polite and friendly towards each other instead of feeling they had to take advantage whenever they could as in today's overly competitive world.
People used to think twice before doing something that might cause someone else a problem for no good reason. Maybe a bit of tact in this case would have been a much better attitude to take. It has done no one any good at all.
Don't think for one moment that I believe we should subjugate our own culture and beliefs to the requirements of the way of life of non Christians or immigrant peoples as is ordered by the PC dictators. I do believe that tolerance, tact and acceptance of their requirements for their cultures is important as long as is does not demand us to change in any way or interfere with our own way of life.

I just saw the bbc news about protests outside the Danish embassy today. It seems that incitement to violence is permitted on the streets of Britain.
A sorry state of affairs. If the world wants to know why the west doesn't give a flying about the pakistan earthquake or probably not even the tragedy that currently is unfolding in the red sea, they really don't need to look any further.

I saw a copy of one of the pictures published in the danish paper and there were cartoon depictions of jesus, mohammed and buddha sat on a cloud.
So at the risk of sounding stupid, or re-covering ground why is is just the muslims getting the hump?

Oh dear!
It won't be long now before we see groups of missionary nuns with Rambo headbands running round the Arab countries with AK47 screaming that there is something in the bible that allows them too.
The Archbish, will be also be inciting large groups of Womens Inistitute members to donate cash and their fertilizer to a bomb making factory in the church, over tea and cucumber sandwiches at the local garden fair.
Can all the Muslims just move to Northern Ireland?? Im sure they will feel more at home???

Morning!
I have a problem with the extremists however i gave to the earthquiake appeal and donated loads adults and kids clothing. The ferry tragedy is just that and i felt for the poor sad people grieving on the dockside for thier loved ones.
I try to treat people as people irrespectrive of race or religion
I do find the extreemist worring and i have nothing but contempt and anger for those that would do harm to my family firends and neighbours.
The protests are doing nothing but frightening and alienating moderate non-muslims and giving power to radical non-muslim groups such as the bnp.
This cannot be good for anyone.
I would like all the Muslim and non muslims who cannot live by the laws and rerspect the way of life here to leave and go elswhere to countires that want to support them and how they live.
Burning flags, chanting 'down with the west' and having placards with 'Revenge the Bin Laden Way' will only antagonise and frighten normal decent people and make things far worse.
IMHO

I understand that mulsims may be offended by the cartoons, but there are ways and means of registering a protest and brandishing placards bearing death threats and making derrogatory comments about the western populatio as a whole IS NOT one of them. Death threats ARE NEVER justified UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES and to tar the western community wth the same brush constitutes the same narrrow mindednes that we -as westerners- are often accused of.

Good for you. They won't be getting a cent from me though. I'm not the only one who feels that way either -
In Holland the tsunami appeal raised about Eur 250Mio in the first two weeks. I donated quite generously after that event - the motivation was actually seeing a line of children's bodies laid out in front of a mosque in Indonesia a few hours after the wave has subsided.
After the pakistan earthquake the equivalent Dutch charity collection number was Eur 3Mio i.e. something like 1% of the tsunami amount.
The bombings in London last July changed my standpoint completely and events over the last few days and especially in London yesterday have cemented my feelings and hardened my heart even further.
C'est la vie.

The media doesn't do a good job by portraying the majority of muslims as saying the same thing!!

And didn't someone else post about how the MAJORITY are taught to behave towards us? No mixing, no inter racial marriages, no money spent except by necessity, etc etc.
Pretty well integrated, I'd say
