also depends on what you want out of the car, are you going for all out speed or a combo of looks and speed, or handling and speed, or looks and handling.
On my blob I have done the following
Performance
P pack back box,
Full decat (except up pipe which will be remedied soon)
RCM induction kit
Larger alloy TMIC
Samco hoses
Prodrive brake conversion with grooved disks
Powerstation Ecutek remap
Prodrive lowering springs
Looks
Mid height rear spoiler
STI front side pods
Scott Lowe front splitter
Detango and colour code internals of headlights to match Dark grey metallic accesories.
18" anthracite WRC wheels
Tints
Full blue and black Leather
Carbon fibre STI8 bonnet scoop
Scott lowe bonnet struts
STI fog lamp covers with STI decal removed
Anthracite lower grill insert
Smaller front plate
Next on the shopping list
Equal length headers
2.5 Turbo
Decat Up pipe
Another remap
Suspension of some description
Defi gauges
Ice upgrade
Like I said it all depends on what you want to spend and what its for. The wife drives mine quite happily.

How much would it cost to bring a standard car up to ppp spec through a specialist? I'm not after crazy power figures just real world poke for the road not tracks,so is this the best way forward? Sorry to keep bugging with questions that must get asked all the time!

The PPP option uses a Prodrive fettled ECU with a generic map to suit the PPP components (different exhaust and intercooler pipe work). A TEK3 adds to your OEM ECU’s maps and will be specific to your car and makes the most of the mods you have made.
PPP's biggest advantage is it doesn’t void the Subaru warranty which will obviously not be applicable in your case...I'd go for the TEK3 over PPP any day
Ian
PS the silver wagon looks good and you would be able to TEK3 it...my only caveat would be the leather interior; leather is slippy and you tend to slid around a lot more than the cloth option

Agreed, leather is slippy but I have one of those clamp things and even though I'm a skinny runt (yes I did say runt) I seldom slide about. Plus baby and dog vomit and all other nasties generally wipe clean away!!!

Am I looking at big bucks for all the tek3 kit and brakes as well as fitting? Sounds expensive to me! Leather is good for me too Mangel, as dog grot seems to get everywhere. Thank the maker for wipe clean seats!

well heres what i would do (sorry i mean i have done)Full decat exhaust (H&S, scoobysport etc) £700
STi intercooler - S/H £250/£300
STi injectors - £400/£500
VF34 or VF35 turbo - S/H £300/£400
Uprated fuel pump - £100
Remap - £600/£700
With that little lot you should have about 320-330bhp & about the same amount of torque, you should also think about uprating your brakes as the standard WRX brakes ain't much use after a few heavy uses

Will my suspension cope with the power as it is used mainly as the family car and I dont want the ride to be too hard and chopy. I have already noticed that the brakes are crap and I am in the process of saving some more money, to buy a set of 18's to fit in the porsche brake kit I have just seen on the new T25. Tese mods need to do done soon as I was recently embarassed by a 2.5 V6 calibra from 60 upto 120mph, saying that the car looked mod'd. Cheers again lads hope to hear more from u all SYD

Bi bear & Syd, Looks like you got all the advice you need, I can only echo what granby and others have said and this is the best way to go. De-cat exhaust, filter and map is by far the easiest and asfest route to more power and better then PPP IMO, would go this route over PPP any day.
Next things on list could be headers, bigger injectors, uprated fuel pump, improved charge cooling with STI TMIC or FMIC. But you start the slipp slope then as you need an uprated clutch, gearbox starts to starin and you put stess on other components like your bottom end etc.
My Sti ver 5 wagon has the following and makes 315/300 .. correction 'Past Tense' Made
Full H&S decat
polished ported headers
Apexi induction kit
uprated fuel pump
HKS Dump Valve
Ecutek remap.
standard STI Internals/ turbo/cams/injector/tmic.
....CORNER!!!!

Just got back in from the first day on the rebuild project
Engines out and stripped, pics posted later
The verdict is that there isnt much we took of that didn't have something wrong with it, Cambelt was as best as it got so far and that needs replacing
The bottom end bearings have collapsed
And lucky it came out anyway as the clutch is so Fubar'd its unreal so that would have needed chnaging at some point anyway.

K&N's are OK, just make sure its a low oil content else it will kill your MAF...Ian what you running filter wise; sti or Green?
