I have an idea, make up a brand new ebay account and trick him into giving his address. Bid on one of his auctions and say you can only pay by cheque then ask him for his postal address.. Its only a dummy account you will be using so it doesn`t matter if he leaves poor feedback.

Not a huge amount of use asking Ebay for his address as its more than likely false - EBay dont do any checks on people registering for the site to see if the address matches the name, or is even real, so it'll most likely be the local Burger King or similar.

This is one of the reasons most of the scammers say paypal only, as they know there are plenty of loopholes with paypal that mean they can get away with the money.

THEN HE GETS NO SALES = NO CASH!

A mate of mine got shafted BIG STYLE!!!, he did this on about 90 items the thieving **** had for sale.

Whilst this will p1ss him off he would get his listing fees back by the unpaid dispute console. I do agree that bidding on his auctions in a new user would really wind him up but he could add you to the blocked bidders list

Thanks for all the information, imaginative suggestions and so on. Particularly the help which will probably locate the Cretin. Nice to be part of a big community where we can all help each other.

The scammer does not have any goods for sale at present as far as I can tell.

Contacting e-bay has been a waste of time, other than an automatically generated response. No response to my request for his address "to start CC proceedings". Their inactivity and delays allow scammers to continue and clean out their accounts and dupe others until it is too late.

Paypal are "dealing with it but it could take up to a month". I can still go to my credit card company but I will give Paypal a little more time.

Any further e-bay or Paypal response will be reported on here but so far this demonstrates how useless e-bay are and although they try to give the impression of a caring efficient organisation they do not give a stuff. They have one interest and one interest only. Just making contact with a human being in e-bay is a problem.

As for the scammer, I have phoned to wish him happy Christmas a few times but is mobile is disconnected and no answer to the land line.

I now have things to do relative to this so forgive me if I do not make reference to the scammer for a while. Like I said, it is not the £110.99 but the principal.

Paypal are arseholes, I got shafted on a HKS exhaust, Used BUY IT NOW for £180, Cheap as it seemed so thought seems a good ebayer so went for it......then after paying using paypal, his negatives started to flood thru, anyway after the only way I could contact him by using texts (the **** wouldnt pick up), I went thru the refund process of paypal, what a bunch of Wan**** they are, after the "investigation process" I received £105 back, what about the rest I asked....."Thats all we could recover as thats what was left in his account before we froze it"....a load of ****e, paypal have over 85 million worldwide users making them millions n millions and they couldnt even refund me my full amount, tight F*****,You are ok though mate, You have insurance, I paid through paypal with Electron.....

Exactly as its put - Paypal's so called Guarantee means Nothing, They tell you you are covered up to £500 then when it comes to the crunch, your "claim" falls into the non - elegible crap....

Following a further request to e-Bay for the sellers particulars, pointing out that the turbo has not been received and the guy has said there is nothing I can do about it I get an e-mail response from e-Bay, basically ignoring what I have told them, telling me they cannot give sellers information, that if it is reported to the police they (the police) can contact e-Bay on another e-mail address and that if a solicitor acting on my behalf wants to make contact with them the address is PO Box ... Dublin.

This was followed by an e-mail from e-Bay conducting a customer survey wanting to know how efficiently they had dealt with my query.

I know the scammer is a tosser and all this does is confirm that e-Bay are not really interested in the well being of their customers.

I am now looking for someone in the Barking area to carry out a reccy for me in advance of my visit.
