Another e-Bay warning.

I paid for a turbo using Paypal, I won on e-Bay Sunday 11 December. I asked for despatch the following day and when it had not arrived Wednesday evening I contacted the seller who told me it was despatched the day before via TNT.
When it did not turn up and TNT confirmed it was not in their system I contacted the seller again. This time he agreed he would ship it Friday 16 December. Needless to say it has not turned up and in a subsequent telephone discussion the so called vendor told me there was nothing I could do other than apply for my money back.

I made the purchase somewhat against my better judgement as the guy already had a poor track record but appeared to have kept his nose clean for the last three months. After making the purchase a further damning negative feedback appeared.

Be warned to avoid this guy like the plague.

I think a personal visit is called for and if anybody has any knowledge of this cretin I would very much appreciate a PM or e-mail. This clown obviously thinks he can get away with it with impunity.
Here are the details I have already and I am in the process of attempting to find addresses.

Location : Barking, London.
e-Bay user ID: 5cooby01

The amount involved was only £111 but that is not the point.

Just do a Paypal claim for non receipt of goods. If he hasnt got trackable proof that hes posted it and you have signed for it they will refund your money no questions asked.... There very good now with items not being received. Will normally always refund the customer. If he doesnt respond you will have your money back within 10 days.

And leave the KNOB another negative feedback.. So hopefully people wont buy from him anymore...

harvey 23 December 2005 10:13 AM

Thanks for the above guys.
As regards a personal visit, distance is no object in something like this but I need his exact location etc. The more intelligence the better. It is the principal. I offered to put him in touch with the last person I made an example of but he didn't want to know so I guess he will have to become a more recent example.
When I have sorted my bit I will happily let the "Essex Crew" have any details I get for their attention and amusement.
I completed a Paypal non receipt and I think it takes up to a month. No problem. I also note he has not responded to them. Unfortunately there is nothing to stop this tosser creating a new ID and starting all over again.

While I know in hindsight I should never have dealt with the guy, I also know that e-bay are not really concerned. Their interest is in MONEY and while they pay lip service to stopping this sort of thing that is only a facade as they do nothing effectively.

Harvey

Is there no sellers address on the invoice for the goods?

AFAIK you can contact E-bay for the sellers address (providing the user has given E-bay the details)

harvey 23 December 2005 10:56 AM

I am trying to get the address from e-bay.
The only address is "Barking, London"
Don't any of you guys from that area have local intel?

rb5 286 23 December 2005 10:56 AM

i will post his address up shortly, just waiting for the info to get back to me hopefully

Attu 23 December 2005 05:37 PM

You wont get any money out of Paypal unless the money is still in his Paypal account, i bought a Camera for £1300 from Ebay and soon after the transaction all contact with the seller was lost, I contacted both Paypal and Ebay and they agreed the seller was at fault but they could not contact him so could not refund the money.
I had 2 addresses for him in London but he had moved out 6 month before, I was then contacted by another Ebayer who had also bought a camera from him and had not recieved it :(, we contacted the police but they just wernt bothered and told to go through the small claims court.
That was nearly 2 years ago and im still trying to find this guy.
