Ian,

We have a JDM(imported) 2003 Forester XT. From your website am I right in assuming there are four parts to the exhaust, the downpipe, the cat, the centre pipe and finally the backbox?

Steve, the PPP already has a sports cat in the DP. Leave it there, a decat would only give you a couple of bhp more and cause a headache at MOT time. Also, Sports cat DPs are A LOT more expensive than Decat DPs. If you want more out of your PPP, then an Ecutek map should get you the results you crave. The one currently on your car is generic, and it's widely acknowldeged that there is more to come from the car with just the PPP components. The DP would not be the way to go though.

I hope that I'll be able to put my name down for a classic centre pipe today, will know this afternoon and upate accordingly.

did anyone want me to sort some exhaust wrap out for headers and decat pipes? it is listed in the gb section but some people in that have mentioned a better make. not sure on the price of this "better" make but i could try to find out if there's enough interest.

Unless you're planning on going for big power and major mods, stick with the 2.5 system (open neck downpipe).

I don't now need the catted down pipe so just the back box and resonated centrepipe for me.

Is it worth pursuing re-maps. I've just spoken to Knowlsey at Xtreme Scoobies and Pat is there on Saturday. If sufficient were interested I could ask for a price.

am i correct in saying the total price for a classic de-cat downpipe is approx £188 (inc VAT + delivery), or has it come down further with so many people placing orders for them?

i currently have a 2.5" decat DP (not open neck) mated to a HKS 3" center section + backbox, thats the only performance mod on my sti5, will I get a noticeable difference with making it a full 3" system with buying the H&S 3" open neck DP?

Oh when the engine is rebuilt next month i plan on a TEK3 remap aswell.

I make it £158.62 inc VAT. The Hayward & Scott website says delivery is usually £18 so total £176.62.

I've heard that a 2.5" system only becomes a bottleneck once you go above 350bhp. Think the open neck is better but I don't know how much difference there is.
