Price for this?

http://www.haywardandscott.com/Detai...59&category=13

I'm assuming this is the resonator replacement for the section between the centre cat and the backbox.

How much difference in noise does this make?

Non resonated centre section will give a few bhp as said above but will also make the exhaust note noticeably deeper and louder.

I have an Afterburner Vortex on mine with the two H&S centre sections. Compared to an identical car with the same backbox but standard centre sections, mine is almost twice as loud and a lot deeper.

I would like to register an interest in the sports catted downpipe, but this is only really at the 5+ price or better, assuming that this includes the free fitting that applies to 1+.

Like Ben, I'm also interested in the sports cat down pipe (for a 99MY classic) but really, I'd need to have the GB price for 10 people (thats xmas for ya!!) also assuming it includes free fitting. A technical question, can you retain the std heatsheild with the sports cat DP, does it have to be modified to accomodate the DP and -if so- do H&S do this?

The more the register an interest, the more chance we've got of getting an expensive mod at a reasonable price.

As Ns04 and Ben I will register an interest in the catted DP but as above would need to have the GB for at least 5+ and providing this includes the free fitting.
So looks as if there's 3 of us so heres hoping a couple more register their interest.

Hi Ian(?)

What parts would I need (and how much on the GB) would a 3" full turbo back plus up-pipe be for an MY03 WRX?

Plus, what if any benefit would I see from the header replacement?

I'll be changing the turbo (to an 18G) and a few other bits soon with a pre-gearbox crunhcing target of 350/350.

Thanks!

HI

First of all i hope everybody had a good Christmas and a Happy New Year :-)

The size of the Tail pipe is 4.5" and the pipe work as standard is 2.5" but it can be done in 3" if mating up to a 3" centre pipe.

A full 3" system works out about £50 dearer than a 2.5 " system.Headers are going to lose you the distinctive sound and are really only recommended on a highly modified engine,i have never tried a car before and afterwards so it might be better to ask if any the guys have had the conversion done as they should be able to give you a better answer.

Hi Ian,

Can I just ask you to clear something up for those who would like to get a sports cat DP in the group buy. Do the GB prices for 5 and 10 people also include free fitting?

Also, a technical question: can you retain the std heatsheild with the sports cat DP, does it have to be modified to accomodate the DP and -if so- do H&S do this as part of the fitting? Mine is a MY99 classic btw, but I'm sure the new age owners will also want to know.

All the best,
Paul

Yes we will do free fitting on the down pipes as long as they go OK, ( 99% of them do )if we have to start cutting nuts off then there will be a small charge. The top heat shield does go back on which needs modifing , which we do.

Ian

*crosses legs* sounds painful I only wanted a lower spool up, a bit more noise and grunt, and to remain MOT friendly....no-one said I may have to sacrifice my nuts to be green!!! .......Maybe this DP isn't such a good idea!!

The down pipe would be made in 3" but the problem would occur when you try to refit the standard down pipe for the MOT ,it would be hard to make a decent leak free joint. If you left the down pipe joint and the centre pipe joint at 2.5" to make them interchangeable this would work but not give you a true 3" system.Having said that if you kept the small restiction in this will bring your spool up a bit lower down the rev range as a opposed to a 3" system , does that make sense ?? What power are you producing ??
