Anyone have directions to the track? I would probably be taking a train from Euston... Which station is closest to the track?

Your help is greatly appreciated,
Eric

Eric.

It's not really well served by the train?

If you are up here early enough, there will be a few of us going up who live locally, so either get yourself to Nottm or Derby?

A short taxi ride will then get you close enough to be collected? I will be leaving (Central Nottm) at approx. 07.00 Hrs from Nottm City centre.
Salsa King and others... Shell service station, Priory Island/A52 circa 07.15 Hrs?

It would be quite an expensive taxi ride?

Unfortunately I am flying in Sunday morning, so I won't be able to get up there before noon. Hope that I'll still be able to see some scoobys run!

Should I take a train to Derby or Nottingham?

Thanks again,
Eric

Err, don't know about the cost involved but is there a shuttle flight to East Midlands airport?

EMA is right at the side of Donington Park?

i will be there. can i have a ride after you have felt your feet/got into the track abit more???

Eric
if you can get to Nottingham on the Saturday and stay in hotel up here, you could meet up with us in the morning! or even get here early sunday! not sure if you could get here then,
a taxi from Nottm to Donnington should cost about £15-£20 if you get up here later!!!

Not a train station no, which is why I suggested looking to see if there was a shuttle FLIGHT?

I think with the problems with the trains at the moment, you would be much better off just hiring a car from Heathrow and driving up.

Cheers

hire a car and head up the M1 , bring you straight up to Donno, Junction 23a.
the cost of train trickets as well as the weather problem we are having here in the East Midlands, it may be better to get a car!!!!! Donno will b sign posted from the M1 at East Midlands Airport then follow it till you see the sign for Donnington Race Track, dead easy.

Definitely attending Donno, sadly this time as a spectator. Want to drive at my first track day soon so thought I'd come along and have a look at what it's all about and pick up a few tips from the pros on the way .
Hopefully bringing a couple of mates and all up for a white knuckle ride in any car that will take us, we all have brown pants at the ready but sadly we have no race helmets, hopefully borrow one...? All willing to pay for charity or to donno track.

What time does it start??

Phil (salsa-king),

I'll be at footy until lunch, but will see you there in the afternoon! Some of my engine is still at the machine shop. TSL are blueprinting it and rebuilding to the same spec as their rally cars - cool!

Plus I'm getting some extra goodies fitted to enhance performance and protect the engine. I'm hoping it'll be ready by the weekend, but if not I'll be there anyway (another trip to Donno in my sister's Citroen AX Tonic!)

Steve.

It will depend on how big he is?

There is a minimum 16yr olds, age limit imposed by Dono.

It is apparently safety related and they need to be happy that the safety belt won't strangle him in the event of a crash.

My son is 12 but he is a 'big' 12 and he comes on track regularly at Dono. Speak to the staff at signing in and they will put you straight.

Mike.

Mike,
Thanks for that. He's a big 14
so should be ok. I take it they
won't request proof then.
Is it a case of turning up with
crash helmet and scrounging a ride?

Wasn't sure if I could make Dono, but seeing as it is now for charitee (mate) - I'll do my best to come along. Had a great day at Brands a few weeks back and would love to blag a few more rides (especially in the Westfield John - I reckon that's going to be quite popular )

Cheers

I'll be in this:

If you can't spot this in a field of scoobs, you need shooting (or you're a woman)

Passenger seat spare for some of the time if anyone's interested.
