"Is it a wagon though ?"

No, however I do have one in the drive, I'll try a wheel on it and see if they fit, Don't forsee any problems though, the doors are the same so the line of the wheel arch must be.

I wouldn't loose the lip, it gives some rigidity, just roll them.

John, I don't think the lip will make much difference on Davids car...well, not with the weld in cage and seam welding

Tim, I was really thinking of the integrity of the front wing, they flimsy at best (don't like being lent on). Better to leave the lip and bend it up.

P.S. get to your parents and finish that car Agent Slooby

Paul, any suggestions via mail

Rolling the arch isnt easy - panel beating - or spend money.. or cut it off

Then again I have a plan..

David, we have an Arch Rolling Tool, but you would need hub on to connect it to.

Graham, it won't crack the paint if you take your time and do it little by little

Graham, does both ends, like wonderwagon said you have to be careful, nice & slow, and a gentle bit of heat helps.

Graham, running wider rubber won't be that beneficial tbh, I would be looking to run taller profiles too, just harder...when I ran my car on track I used to use Michelin TA40 cut slicks (hard compound tarmac rally slicks, unfortunately not E marked or speed rated though but with tread ware indicators) I had 18/62/16 size (180mm tread width, 620mm diameter) and they were stunning, grippy when warmed up (4 laps of Donnington) but not so much that the car would snap when on the limit, wonderfully progressive...as my passengers at the SIDC Donno national will confirm by the lurid drift I could hold out of the Melbourne loop

If they were a) still made and b) road legal I would have no hesitation in using them again, unfortunately my old set have now gone hard and the side walls cracked

David in your case, I would just fold the flanges over with a hammer and dolly as your repainting the shell

Pat's car on that day was in stilt mode and had the 9 foot whip...

He also had an unfortunate incident coming out of the old hairpin, involving the bonnet pins, and them not being secured still it didn't stop him for long!

Mine was in stealth mode, and confusing the hell out of Mellow in his RA V Limited, because he couldn't catch me on the straights, he could under braking, but as soon as I was on the power I was gone! It was so funny because Mellow thought he was following a stock UK with an HKS Hiper...not a car with nigh on exactly the same mods as his plus a Mark map It was ever so funny coming out of Melbourne sideways pulling away from David Brown in his Supercharged Exige with Adam in the passenger seat and Mutant Matt sitting next to me, the pair of us waving at them

IIRC this shot of my car is with Danny Fisher in the passenger seat, or possibly Alan Garrad:

It's relevent Andy, note the beaten out arches on Pat's car to accomodate the ET35 8x18 rims with 235/45 profile tyres, oh and a familure front mount also fitted to his car

Guys the back arches roll easily as there is some substance around there, the fronts are flimsy and a pain to do without distorting the line of the arch, just requires some patience. Saying that I am more of a function over form guy, so if you intend to be brushing the odd bit of armco or a tyre wall, just get on with it.
