I agree...my car has been off the road since May '04, purely because I keep upping the ante and changing the spec as I discover new improvements that can be made, at little extra cost...ahem...

Hope the work on the Scoob doesn't go the way of my Sunbeam...that last ran in October, 1991

haha, I bought a rangey for the same reason in December, thinking I'd move onto that when the scoob was finished so I'd still have something to fiddle with.... but I don't think the sccob will ever be finished.

Andy (F), if you want to take your car out on a circuit on Saturday for a run-in session, then pop along to Knockhill between 9am and 1pm.

Would be great to see the car in the flesh now it's all finished.

I reckon maybe you have the best idea, David. 4WD Justy is a perfect idea. It might just mean more swearing and Stella though! Then again, if you went through with that idea, it would come to an end also. Damn these hobbies!!!

My car is finished now and I'm bored with it already, hasn't even been out yet !

How do you feel with the car though, Andy? I know Alan reckons his car is too much to use the car a lot, on the road, as it's simply too fast, but how do you feel with yours?

I know it's built more as a drag/handling weapon, but i'm sure part of you wants to use it everyday, as you've put that much effort into it?

Are we sure it exists?
I know he likes to keep things a secret, but....

I can recall a Justy with a sport drivetrain in it in the USA about a year ago on Snet somewhere.

David: why 1200 bhp, and from what? A skyline will allegedly do this if hit hard enough(?)

1200bhp is the easy part.

Thanks John

I'm mapping in Dublin this weekend otherwise I would have come across.
If either one of my two alternators turns up by Friday I'll get it mapped and maybe run it at York on Monday.

It's never going to be an everyday car now You'll know what I mean when you see it ! It was too much as a road car last year and that was relatively refined
I've long said that 350-400bhp is ideal for a road car that you want to get a buzz out of thrashing on the road as a daily driver. Stop where you are !!

Anyway, made some alterations to the front of the car now! - Welded a couple of brackets on for the dashboard

Some of the interior is in primer.

Had the senior fabricator in the garage all day yesterday

Will put up some pics later.

Morris Minor convertible with Impreza running gear? How's that for a project

I have a moggy minor convertible... Well, more accurately, my dad does, and it's not turned a wheel in 18 months and he'd like to see it move again

LOL @ Ron and Fuzz.
You soft jessies!!! Get a proper Landy
For the same reasons I bought a Series 3 2.25 petrol (Though the V8 conversion idea is eating away at me. Maybe supercharged)

Back Seat Andy, Its not going to be ready for the shootout due to being let down by others so I cant really see the point in finishing it.

Really fed up with the thing now, I might just delay it and make the spaceframed 3 door 22b wagon that I keep suggesting.

You sounding like me now

Going backwards on mine again today, after getting a MOT on it yesterday I thought things were looking up (cheered me up a bit anyway)
But oh no, more cutting and welding to do now.
It's back to being called a POS

Come on!

David:

If that is what the car is to become, just do it. I personally would feel that the shell is just ready for that radical approach.

Fuzz:

You must be so close. Tempted to pop down to PowerStation to take a peek this saturday between practice runs. Is the car still there?

When I was building the Hot Rods there were just so many issues to fight, aligning a Jaguar independant suspension to a custom rail chassis and getting it all to align to the body and the wheel wells, all custom made, cut by hacksaw and filed....arc welded and painted in a single garage.

I was younger than you two to! (is that correct English?)

Time to stand-up and get a result.

I also got bloody p!ssed off with the whole friggin' lot and vowed never to do it again; bought the 911 and welded for 8 months on it, painted in a single garage...familiar story....

This Impreza has been so easy (so far).

Keep going.

Still there Graham...
Quite welcome to come look.

STILL waiting for the carbon and the harnesses off of Roelands
I mailed the order over on the 28th March
Mind you, harnesses are no good without any mounts to hang the seats off of I suppose.

is this it? is this really it? after all that hard work. you can't just give up now. plus, i found out about this thread on monday and read the whole thing from page one. and now... it is like reading a great book and your dog chews the last few pages. it doesn't matter if you didn't make it to a dead line. i think graham is right; it should be what it was meant to be. you broke your *** to loose a couple of lbs here and a couple there, don't turn it to a two door show car thing now. let it be the beast it is supposed to be,
looking forward with anticipation
regards matt
