In summary, he was a gifted footballer who is thick as 2 short planks and has never had any idea how to deal with the spotlight that his footballing skills threw him in to.

I genuinely pity Gazza but it still doesn't detract from the fact that morally he is plain scum and needs help

 

Most of you are missing or ignoring the fact that just because one person is able to deal with personal problems, doesn't mean a.n.other will.

Good for those that come through bad things without any problems, not good for those that don't.

Have never forgiven Gazza for being so short, if he had been 4 inches taller he would have reached that cross in extra time of the 98 world cup semi final, knocked the ball into an open net.

We would have then gone on to become World Champions.

So the moral of the story is "Gazza grow up"

 

I don't know, we have been saying that if they need help, they should get it. Gazza seems to fall in to that category. While he may have had some assistance over the years it is apparent that many of the underlying issues have not been resolved and that he STILL needs help, which he doesn't seem to be trying to get.

Everybody is affected by every event in their life, that's what makes us what we are. I just don't see that you can condone unacceptable behaviour in some because of past bad experiences, otherwise we'd all be saying the Yorkshire Ripper was just "mis-understood".

i'm not saying its o.k to bash up the mrs it's about as far from o.k as you can get.. i'm not saying this feeling towards him is going to last forever either.people will eventually get bored with it like they did with george best. i am saying that if you are idolised by millions of people then the forgiveness(and this is a damn forgiving country, too forgiving most of the time) will go on a lot longer than it would for mr smith from acacia avenue. my specs aint pinkish either i just live in the real world, on a national level there is far more sympathy than scorn for gazza at the moment.if you don't feel that then your entitled to your views.

I have read his book, and yes he was with his best friend and his younger brother, the young brother was knocked down and killed, it is a shame, i think he was around 10 at the time of his friends brothers death, no person, certainly a child, should have to go through that, which from the book Gazza didn't take well and blamed himself, he then had a couple more people die who were close to him as well.

I'm not saying it's a good thing his drinking, but the bloke has a few demons in his head and god, he has tried to beat the drink but can't. Best on the other hand enjoyed going out and having a few drinks and pulling the birds, yeah they have the same addiction but for different reasons.

I would suggest people read his book, prehaps an insight.
