but only Front engine strut braces .

"love them"? that'd be a bit strong a sentiment Steve I'd say they are a lot better than the stock suspension struts/springs I had on before, by far. I've not really had a chance to play properly with the various settings, and I still need to get the geometry sorted as well. At the mo', the car, although handling much better, feels dead on the road. I've had this before, and geometry is imho as important as the suspension itself. Once I get this done, I'll post up my experiences properly.

The only difference you have from me is the rear boot mounted strut brace, can't see that making much difference

Update:
Just back from NINEMEISTER - Porsche Tuning Specialist where I've had my geometry done. Booked in last friday as soon as we got back off our hols.
Quoted £120 + vat for the job, which is good.
Arrived with only a 1/4 tank of fuel, so off to find the nearest shell/tesco to fill up. Finally found tesco and got back ready to go.
Robin was the mechanic today, and very nice he was too
On the ramps, line the wheels up, fit the gubbins and away you go!


He did the back first, and after setting the camber, came across a problem with the toe. The bolt was stuck solid, so rather than the hassle of lowering the car to release the bolt on the other ramp (trying on this ramp would take too long and upset all other settings) he's left it as it is for now and we'll revisit it once I've sorted the bolt out.
The camber was practically spot on, so off to the front. Similar problem on the front offside as well Toe bolt wouldn't budge, but at least with the BC Coilovers you can adjust the top mounts, which Robin did on that side. Again, settings were as near as damn perfect.

All done, with a printout to show before and after settings, which are:
BEFORE:
camber LF: -0*55' RF -0*35' LR -1*07' RR -1*48'
toe LF -0*27' RF -0*26' LR -0*08' RR 0*01'

AFTER:
camber LF: -1*27' RF -1*25' LR -1*45' RR -1*48'
toe LF -0*01' RF -0*00' LR -0*08' RR 0*00'

As you can see, it's pretty much spot on with the Prodrive settings, apart from the rear toe on the LR at -0*08'. I'll get that sorted in the future.

Obviously getting your geometry sorted is a pretty basic requirement for these cars of ours, and if you've not done it yet, I'd highly recommend you do so. Apart from the obvious driving benifits, it'll preserve the life of your tyres and make you quicker on the road as well
Driving home afterwards, the results were felt straight away, turn in is so much sharper and the car tracks straight and true. Motorway is not the best place for a full evaluation, so I guess I'll have to head for the hills tonight to do that
I can say though, after negotiating a few Warrington roundabouts today, that it now corners like it's on rails!

Thanks for the write up. It went someway to convincing me to get mine fitted..

I have done so and I had a few questions if thats ok?

What is the ground clearance on yours? Front and back?

Do you know what the gap is on your height adjusters at the front and back?

Did you find you had to adjust the rear shock quick alot so that you wheel wasnt really deep in the arch? Mine is really quite close to its highest point.

At the hight you have your set at do you get any wheel rub on full lock at the front?

Vash, sorry I've not replied, I didn't realise you'd posted on here, the notification must've stopped!
Anyway, to answer your questions:
Ground clearance I've no idea on, just lower although the front mudflaps scrape a bit every now and then.
I've no idea what the gap is on the height adjusters. Adam measured my old shocks before fitting these, then played around with the adjusters before settling on what it's on now.
He didn't find the wheel in the arch thing either, again, by measuring the old shock and transferring those sizes over to the BC's, he was able to set the ride height to stock at first, then lower all round.
I don't get any wheel rub at all.

Well, the wife loves the car and spent the first 5 mins driving it whilst screaming with excitement. :-)

We would like to thank Chris for the time and effort he has put into this car! We were a little nervous about buying a car with such mods but this "Ownership" thread was really helpful in getting to know the history of the car!

I drove the car over from Cheshire to Yorkshire (sorry SMACS) with a huge smile on my face and the wife grinning in the car following me. We spent Sunday tearing around scammoden and the car is "Awesome".

We don't intend to do much to the car in terms of modifications as you all know from reading this Chris got it to a safe, maintainable level. We will be getting into the social side of things and attending all the big meets and look forward to meeting everyone.

I'm in two minds about the SMACS stickers, i do love the one on the back window but feel like a bit of a fraud!!!

I'll be starting up our own ownership experience thread and will post the link between changing nappies and getting some sleep.

Paul, I was really quite worried about going through the whole selling process, you hear so many horror stories these days about visits from time wasters to people after nicking your p&j. The experience with yourself and your good lady was spot on though, and couldn't have been more perfect
I'm well chuffed that its gone to such a enthusiast, and hope you enjoy the ownership as much as I've done.

Well, after 2.5 years of ownership we just arn't getting the use out of this car that it deserves so it's going up for sale, :-( We have only managed 4k in the time we have had it. Couple of enjoyable events (NBO's, Blackpool run's) but this car needs to be driven not sat in my garage. :-(

Yeah met some nice people along the way, I'm really not sure it's worth. Looking on ebay and autotrader they are between 6k - 7.5k so somewhere in the middle would be good. :-)
