Seems we weren't the only ones to have victims of "enthusiastic" driving in that area.
The reason why we couldn't get through to Buckden was because the river was being dredged for bodies.
Apparently the night before, a speed boat took off "at speed" over a wier in pitch black...
Thought I would like to share that tit bit with you

I live in Buckden and the story goes
There were 5 people on the speedboat and a dog. The boat went over the chain just before the wier and the propeller got tangled up in the chain catapulting an guy of 21 and a female from scotland into the water at midnight on Saturday. Apparently the dog is still missing. The two bodies have now been recovered.
Why go out on a boat at midnight without any light's on board.
