I like this one from the link "Just over half (58 per cent) of drivers break the 30mph speed limit" - if 42% of drivers NEVER exceeded 30 mph - that would make it pretty impossible for the rest to do it!

Sorry Chris, but if the NPR cant figure out your plate, its merely flagged & double checked by a bloke with a magnifying glass!

Went past the same camera today in my works van, which has a 'snooper' device onboard. Didn't beep at all as I drove past it. I also noticed that it had what looked to be a small burn mark around the flash. Looks like somebody was even more p*ssed of with it than I was!

I got "done" by a nice traffic cop with a laser gun approx 4 years ago for doing 32 in a 30. It was late at night with nobody else around. It wasn't a built up area either - just a bridge and I was 20yards away from the NSL sign. £60 fine and 3 points. In Teesside, the Police have a zero tolerance policy towards speeding. I asked about the 10% +2mph and he said it was a guidline....the 30mph sign is the law!

Not quite as bad, but I got done for 34 in a 30 on Marton Road some years ago. I've managed to avoid anything else since, but since I got the Scooby I feel sure I'm going to get caught out again one of these days...

Feckin right...i do.
Il tell you what i spend as much time staring at the speedo as the road (Its all to easy to coast over the limit.!.) - im getting used to actually staying below 30 on the dash and ill tell you what im now convinced Pissys been close to losing his license, in town anyway and between traffic lights -you dont need brakes..!!!..seriously the road layout is actually DESIGNED for 30 mph -if you travel faster you get a red..

Whats intresting is the number of cars that glue to your bumper when your sat at this speed , and gradually ease back ......the ones that do go past you just wonder how they survive and harken back to when it was you..!!

Doesnt stop the taxis mind ,nosiree...

I just cannot believe prosecuting someone for doing less than 10% over the limit is anything other than a money making scheme , no way.
