its about 25k depreciation, not bad going if you consider how much I spent.

However, when I sell my Porsche next year this will go up by about 15k

8 cars, 5 years

90/H Nova 1.2 sting bought £1350 sold £1000
90/H Golf 1.3 £1850 £1800
90/G Escort XR3i £1500 £1700
88/E Escort Turbo £2200 £3100
97/P Golf VR6 £4500 £4700
96/P BMW 528i SE £7800 £8000
00/W Turbo 2000 £9000
88/E Golf Cabby £700
Still got the bottom two, but as you can see if you buy cheap and sell at the right time you don't have to take it too bad a loss on them. I get bored fairly easy so its nice to try a bit of everything, my scoob is one of the longest i've owned just over a year now

I've had one for 2 years

My parents have had in the past 6 years:

Ford Mondeo 2.0 GLX
BMW 323i (E36)
Ford Mondeo V6 Ghia X
Lotus Elise
Merc CLK 230 Komp
Volvo V70 D5
Subaru Impreza WRX

All except the CLK (2 years) have been kept for at least 3 years, and the longest was the elise (5 years), which was the only 2nd hand car. All except the Subaru, Elise and V70 were company cars Thats pretty good going

Year | Car | loss (depreciation and mods)

1991 | Honda Civic Si | 4000 Euros
1994 | Alfa 33 Green Clover | 5000 Euros
1996 | Mitsubishi Evo III | 6000 Euros
1998 | Subaru WRX MY99 | 4000 Euros
2001 | BMW 320i - company car | 0 Euros
2002 | Elise 111S | 10000 Euros
2004 | Mini Cooper S | will sell it next year, expect around 6000 Euros loss

2006 | BMW 130i M-Sport

So, 7 cars in 14 years of driving = an average of 2 years per car, not bad compared to some of you
Total loss is 35,000 Euros, but then I've purchased them all brand new except the Alfa (and that was a mistake), so depreciation has always been an issue ...
