Oh on Thursday we were playing the Euro forces and Armored furry add ons. These have to be downloaded and paid for form EA. Sundays and Tuesdays are usually vanilla BF2

 

connection problem is even worse now. Just get conected to a server then connection is lost. Have to quit then start up again to connect to ea server. Just started doing this in the past couple of days and really bad now. Any ideas?

update: figured it might be a graphics issue as bf2 froze once disconnected from server. After realising i had reverted graphics drivers in the week i d/l the latest one again. Uninstalled bf2 (again), updated fx driver, reinstalled and now seems to run fine. However, got a new issue. After a while of playing, the sound stuck like an old lp and a beeping noise started, every 2-3 secs or so. running a 7800gtx in a laptop that stays on for 12hrs a day. Could this be the fx card overheating? (clevo chassis) Any programmes to monitor fx card temp and force cool?

 

Any of you guys been playing 2142? - I get my full version and a full version of BF2 in a few days time.


2142 rocks with the titan mode

Sorry to say Alex, you missed a cracking game last as well... 16 player infantry only... great change of pace in the games and a LOT of fun!

 

So is BF2 up to version 1.4 now? Last time I played it was 1.2 I think!?
Tried the EA Updater last night and all it installed was a new version of the EA updater that looks like a cheap rip off of Steam!?
Couldn't remember what my login details were so played something else instead

Was the SN server down last night as it comes up as red and offline 8 people were listed as playing on it

anyway I applyed the 1.41 patch now when you double click the BF2 Icon to load the game the screen flickers black a couple of times as if the game is about to load then just goes back to the desktop

do you need to apply the 1.40 patch before the newer one

 

Nope - just slap on v1.41 - made a huge difference to the game's performance.

Then the server should available.

I tried out 2141 last night, definitely going to give this a go now, slightly different game play to BF2, and love the ED209 look a likes.

 

 

Definitely going to trial it. Probably run it on our server on a Wed or Fri night - so as not to impact the normal BF2 nights.

 

Theres a big improvement in graphics and game play - the Titan mode is a clever Idea.

I've d/loaded 1.41 and installed but I still can't see the pesky SNAFU server

I d/loaded as a separate exe, then ran it. I didn't go via EA d/loader.

'cos I am pigheaded, d/loading via EA & then will see what happens

put snafu in the Server name box and try it.

However, last time I looked the Server was running a non standard map

Tried to get this working last night.
Hadn't updated since 1.2 so downloaded the full 1.41 patch.
Ran the patch....failed.
Uninstalled Spec Ops and BF2, reinstalled BF2, reset the PC, reinstalled Spec Ops, reset the PC, installed the patch. Seemed to go through ok. Ran the game..... error message about can't find something about shaders etc.
Gave up and played on the 360... hassle free gaming!

Not sure about the night for 2142 yet... Been a little preoccupied myself.

However, normal BF2 nights - Tue / Thur / Sun, 8-9pm kick off.
