Looks like MPuk should be applying the patch post 4pm BST today - hopefully in time for tonights game (9pm BST).

Hopefully the patch will hit various download sites at 4pm too

Wake Island is included with this, and we will be enabling that map as soon as humanly possible!

 

Right, looks like our server has been patched - although MPUK haven't finished testing yet. new map Wake Island 2007 is on there for selection, but we won't enable it tonight if the client side patch is over 100Mb. I'll update the server message (on the BF2 splash screen) as and when Wake Island is enabled.

Patch should be available from EA and mirror sites from 3-4pm BST ish... I hate having to work until post 6pm this week! dagnamit

Well, if thats the case, we will run without Wake Island tonight, so people don't have to try to get this downloaded first - as all the download sites will be hammered anyhow.

So, tonight you shouldn't need patch1.03, but from tomorrow morning onwards our server will be running the Wake Island map, so 1.03 will be mandatory.

We had a full server earlier - good news is, SNAFU_UK will be a 40 player server soon, although this may mean an IP change (TBC - I'll post as soon as I know).

Finally found the server last night and played for an hour or so (G00n3r), got my **** whooped as usual.

Couple of questions,

Does the engy always fix a vehicle if he's a passenger? does it matter if he's using one of the onboard guns, can he fire and fix at same time?

Yesterday on the upper corner mini map there was like a red flashing zone, is that your squad leader telling you to attack that area?

Was a fun game last night - couple really really good players on.

Not sure how the engineer works now under patch 1.03, certainly used to be that way, ie if you had an engineer as a passenger he would auto-fix your vehicle.

The red flashing zone signifies an artilery strike usually issued by your commander - avoid that area! You don't get a warning for enemy ones.

 

I read up a bit on engineers last night. They can fix their own vehicle as a passenger, or another vehicle as the driver. It's worth having two tanks together both being driven by engineers as you fix each other as you go along. Cool

 

Sorry if people had problems getting on last night although 10 slots appeared to be free.

We were trialing the reserved slot feature, needless to say it doesn't work as expected and is disabled now. So 40 public slots available now.

but only about 3500 points so far ..no time to play ..

i played oldschool you had to win to earn your guns & stripes

but the team swap colour glitch is still there MAJOR pain ..
