Although to be fair the server is fairly full most game nights now, just mostly non-snafu.

Could all SNAFU members (you know who you are!) make sure you have my MSN Messenger id added to your MSN, so you can message me if there is no room on the server or use TS if you have access - we can kick guests to make room for clan. Instant Messaging details are on our www site in the member (private) area for BF2.

I know what you mean though, sometimes even with 60% health, one hit from another take takes you out.

I find shooting the side of the wheels kills a tank off quicker.

As for APC and troop kills - yep, brilliant
For tanks, the best solution is to aim as low down as possible either at the tracks or better still, the underbelly which is far more efficient than the turret/topsides area.

FYI - DICE plan to distribute future expansion packs via the web online..

The Battlefield 2 expansion pack planned to be launched during spring 2006 is now replaced by two booster packs. The change means slightly lower project revenues during the fourth quarter 2005 than during the third, due to a lower development budget. The anticipation though is that this will be compensated by higher royalty revenues during the first six month 2006.

The expansion packs in the Battlefield series have new maps, vehicles and weapons. Each Battlefield booster pack will have new but fewer maps, vehicles and weapons. Instead they are sold to a lower price: 9.99 USD. An expansion pack is usually sold at between 19.90 USD and 29.90 USD. Today at least two Battlefield 2 booster packs are planned for spring 2006.

Still at work, get away in 2 hours, straight home then off we go. Hopefully get a few more good scores tonight.

Thanks to piercehead for helping me achieve a good score on Sunday...

Hmm having major trouble installing the 1.12 patch. Just goes thru the motions then says "patching failed". BF2 then won't work.
Tried uninstalling BF2 fully and doing it from scratch but the same thing happens.
Might have to d/l the patch again!!

ii) Patch installation error: Patching Failed error
This can be caused by a large number of reasons, the main one being insufficient disk space (the patch requires at least 3GB free space) and a corrupt patch file (file size should be 280MB).

You can check what your specific error is by going to:
My Documents\Battlefield 2\Dmp\patchlog.txt

For a more detailed explanation of the error numbers, please check the BCC Software website.

Cheers Dave, I did have to clear space off the C:\ drive (even though the game's installed on the D:\ drive) to make 4Gb spare, previously had less than 3Gb. But even with 4Gb free it failed.
I've almost downloaded the patch again and I'll try and free up more space before trying again.

Was thinking more along the lines of he made very good target practice for me, popping up with good regularity at the top of stair wells.

In my crosshairs!

Was almost uncanny!

Right, lazy barsteward that I am I can't be bothered to read all of this thread so my questions are:

What time is the server up in the evening?

Do I need the SF expansion pack?

How do I become a SNAFU?

I usually play under the name of sennadog93 which presumably I can change in settings?

Answers would be appreciated, otherwise treat this post with the contempt it deserves.

1. Yep lazy

2. server up all the time - SNAFU on from 9:00 Tues,Thurs, Sun (maybe on at others

3. yes for thurs and sometimes sunday night

4. http://snafu-uk.gaming.multiplay.co.uk/

5. Yep if you become snafu you can keep your name and add the snafu_ as a game only prefix - so you keep you name and the points associated with it

6. Treated with 3 layers of contempt topped with varnish.

Most of this is in post 1 on this thread

1) The server is up 24x7,but we aim to be on from 9pm on Tues/Thurs/Friday.

2) Yes if you want to play on Thursday nights, and some Sunday nights.

3) First off, play on the server, introduce yourself. We have the server rules on our www site, http://snafu-uk.gaming.multiplay.co.uk/ - also express your interest in joining here.

4) if voted in as a new SNAFU member, then you just enter in the prefix on the BF2 login screen.

I thought last nights games were going great but I had connection problems and was kicked twice from the server.

On another note, could anyone hear me on Teamspeak last night, if not I think I may have a duff mic
