Where is safest to park in Carlisle. Especially when goin to pics.

Def not portland square or car park behind cash convertors.

Has anyone had probs from the local neds.

Sport special: Best to park somewhere like the Viaduct as its got 24hour cameras on it. I think they won an award for getting it to a level of safety or something.

 

best place to park in carlisle is leave it in your GARAGE AT HOME!!!!!get drunk and taxi home try civic centre car park its opposite police station.u missed a great run today hartside cold but fun 15 mpg !!!!!!no petrol shortages today but i failed to get a fleet discount with 15 thirsty scoobys filling up at a lucky garage in petrol !!!!!

Once again a big thanks to Dave and Munna for organizing a great days driving, and to everyone who turned up, as usual a great bunch of people.

The route was magnificent and IMHO all the better for being damp, I've certainly never seen so many sideways scoobs on one day before Hartside was spectacliar (sic)

PS. Did anyone get the reg no. of the Red Escort, it wasn't the same as the Black one from the previous outing was it?

the next one will be in December....Hope fully i will still have the car....if not I will ride passenger with someone?....keep a look out....And can we have some intretsing names please for the next run....i am getting tired over the Kendal run theme...We were not even near kendal this time round!!!!

Looks I missed a really good day.

My fav road by miles is the A591 to Keswick high speed corners and long straights 120mph+
And the Feds are never about

All in all a grand drive,

When in Dec are you looking to meet.

Question: I have a sport and only get 20 mpg. =35 quid for 200 miles.

 

Cool runout guys. It was very tricky with all the surface water but that made it challenging! Superb roads up to Kielder. It was my first time over Hartside and i'll definitley be going back. The run down from the Cafe was excellent with loads of opportunity to get the back end out under braking in the tight corners. Very Corsica-like but plenty wide enough and great views of the road ahead. Where are we going next?

ps DaveW: What was that comment about me being the last person you wanted to see behind you?

I'll post details of the next meet when I get round to looking at the maps again. Scotland sounds fun but I'll need to renew my passport

hey, i am the boy that was with A5 JJH the green impreza turbo, that was a good run up to hartside, and also i had to change my boxers, the twisty roads nearly made me sick, next time i will only have a piece of toast.
