Cool

Hi,

I’m working out the next Kendal Run. Unfortunately it doesn’t go anywhere near Kendal (need a new name for this event so start thinking). Starting point will be Carlisle. And we will be taking in the sights of Kielder and sunny Alston . The will be a stop at pub for lunch then a finish at Carlisle again (just to get you southern lot back to the M6 so you don’t get lost…ha ha ).

The route will be about 100 miles and has every type of road you could want from tight and twisty to long sweeping open corners. Those of you with 2 pot brakes beware since I had brake fade on my 4 pots round this route. And before I get cries of nutter I wasn’t pushing the car that much just having fun.

Now for the boring bit……..The format will be the same as before. Quick blast followed by a slow down period to let the group stay together. We will be observing 30mph zones, but not going to mention other zones for obvious reasons but no insane speeds. Oh and a note for the person following me. WHEN I HIT THE HAZZARD LIGHTS IT IS TO TELL YOU TO SLOW DOWN FOR A REASON. Forgot to mention this the last time we were out. Luckily Andrew realised (cheers mate) as we came upon a humpbacked bridge at speed .

Now all I need is a date that you can make. I was thinking of the weekend 11/12th November since I’m not on call. Either post here or e-mail me and I’ll do the democratic thing and choose the date I want .

See ya soon

DaveW

PS: This is open to anyone. Cumbrian Scooby Drivers do not discriminate against those less fortunate people who for reasons known or unknown do not own a Scooby. But the organisers reserve the right to exclude anyone for any reason they can think of at the time.

PPS: I wrote this under the influence of alcohol so if any of the above does not make sense then I’M SORRY OK.

DaveW,

Sounds good to me. Just provide me with a map / 6 figure grid ref....GPS system so that I can find my way back down saff.

Now on soft suspension so I shuouldn't jiggle like a complete nutter in a jiggly thing. Re for those of you with 2 pots...what about mine on the old UK motor ?

Can we have a warning for farmer jumping out of hedge please ?

Mines poorly sick, so I might be in a little 205 GTi (if you'll allow me to tag on at the end!!!)

Cheers

Red face

What's up with Scoob mate? Hope its not serious.

YOU WANT TO BRING WHAT !!!!

I don't know, next we'll have someone wanting to bring a Saxo

No problemo mate. And I'm sure your 205 will blitz most of the scoobies on the tight stuff.

As for the farmers, I'm going to get a guy to walk in front of us with a red flag

I'll e-mail everyone that responds next week with the start point/time.

DaveW

The APEXi boost controller's gone AWOL so I've lost its 0.7 bar setting ~ but I still have the 1.3 bar mapping

Unfortunately it don't do many to the gal on that one....pops and crackles all angry like which loses it entertainment on the M56 in heavy traffic after a while.....

I wanna bring what ??? Yep you 'eard. But it aint normal. Volvo T5-R yellow, fully caged, and sounds like an a swarm of really angry bees (group A exhaust!)..Its a bit of a lark really. Fantastic on the twisties ~ just a bit slow on the flat.

Hopefully should have it fixed if I can get it booked in to be looked at.

Cheers

Mark,

I was thinking of providing pace notes on tape and CD but I can't do them slow enough for a WRX . Sorry mate, you know me always ready to take the p***.

Route will be e-mailed next week.

DaveW,

On preparing the route can you ensure that all Hump Back bridges are well signposted.

Obviously a Scooby standing on the brakes with its Hazards flashing away wasn't enough for me

Likely places for farmers to jump through hedges...you know the sort of stuff !

You can record the pace notes at a S...L...O...W pace for my UK94 !!!!!

AndrewC,

I've sent you an e-mail, either your e-mail address is wrong or your too lazy to read it . E-mail me if you still need directions.

BlackScooby,

Not speaking to you, your just not dedicated to this Scooby lark. Fancy going to a party instead of coming on a run with the lads

Sorry I'm in a micky take mood and I've had a few beers .

See you all soon (but only if I can't avoid it )

Ah that email...the one titled "Kendal Run 2 route details", you need to be more precise in the subject or I'll think its spam

G`Day

I did not realise about all these scooby owners in carlisle.

So whats the score for this weekend.

I would mind getting together for a spin. 100 miles thats about 20 quids worth of fuel.

I live near carlisle. No one round here has a scoob.

Mines is a sport that looks like a CAT.

Cheers

AndrewC,

You've stopped taking the pills again haven't you

Better watch out, otherwise the men in white coats will be round again

DaveW - now on coffee and gin and still taking the pith
