Searching for the perfect Chassis
Hmmmmm:
It was me who stuck them on your car after finding some on mine, still have 2!
Thought I would 'give' them to you to recycle back to your dad....
I think he thinks he has got away with it.
Any of your tribe going to the Midland Champ dinner next week?
Graham
ps: are you sure you want to do some hillclimbing Paul?

Paul: You will only need a 'notice' next to the kill button '' Push to switch off'' or similar.
Rob and I are on stock fuel tanks (so far).
Beware of the helmet approval, you must check it in the Blue Book. It will need an 'approved' sticker off the scrutineers on your first event (£5 I think) afixed to it before you can race. This is a one-off charge. (welcome to the MSA!)
I am very bias to Loton Park as I have been involved at committee level for 10 years, even President once.
The practice weekend is invaluable.
I think you are a bit of a Rob, a wolf in sheep's clothing, but I will try to hinder all next year
I am sure you (and your family) will love it.
For sure though you will not get magazine cover.

I'm probably going to do the Aldon next season and run in roadgoing. Given that, do you think it's desireable or not to upgrade?
Thanks again
Martin
ps. just got some new decals if I get round to re-furbing my wheels Rob had his eye on!

Do I need an ignition switch label? I have a large red button on the front screen scuttle which kills all power. I can also add a sticker to the internal kill switch and the ignition key switch though.
I have FIA nomex suit, underwear and snell blah blah helmet.
I think hdlcc sounds good.
You guys really don't need to worry about me beating you, trust me, for now at least
At least I will be able to offer some support to some of my customers, and I would be very keen to enable all customers to do as well as they can on the day.
Cheers

I've already tried to temp Graham into this.... he's not man enough though

www.dounehillclimb.com
Beats the hell out of cones and concrete. Have a look at Martin Groves video in downloads....
To right, too many stories about THAT place....
Groves and the Gould Boys are on another planet. Groves is doing the Bathurst Hillclimb in Oz in November!but it is just too far in the Impreza with the risk of the crunch. (I'm much older than John but have more hair according to reports!
)
Martin:
Yes, as you never know if you will change your mind and want to do an A or a full A Championship in 2007/2008.
You can use an A license for a B meeting.

Back to a bit of tech now.
If i fit my Type R TY 754 box with dccd to my non dccd Sti and do NOT bother fitting a dccd controller, what 'state' will the box operate in?
ie % of drive to front/back.
Graham.

Tim:
Thanks, but what is the stock Sti v3 non dccd (should have asked in the first place..).
Also:
'free' dccd plus plated rear and helical/visc/lightplate front lsd will be like what after the stock Sti I'm so used to?
Graham

50/50 is the stock split, although power does get shuffled around by the viscous centre
The car will be far more tail happy with the rear biase, and much less prone to understeer, it can snap into oversteer a bit more savagely...much more fun to drive though

The Audi man made them from Fridge Magnets with Hotpoint and other (good) manufacturers of White Goods!
But, they might have come from another Hill climb source too..
'Coarse, to get one you need to drive one and end-up getting victimised.
Graham
An Impreza hat drives like a Cossie then Tim?

I have search for months for a 'kit' of a stock dccd controller, and have all but given up.
Very tempted to fit the Neetronics controller (www.neetronics.com).
David at API will check/freshen/LSD the Type R box and I hope fit an Sti or UK 5th to cruise to the tracks. There is a Kazz diff waiting instal also for the rear.
Work will start end October when the plastic has recovered from the Holiday in Italy...
I keep on looking at the 911 in my garage that costs me nothing almost each yer. Is this game realy worth it?

Which translates into completley undriveable on the hills, couldn't contain the rear end with the dccd 2 off locked today round currborough, the grip has gone because of the time of the year even though it stayed dry. Still managed a 34.55 PB. Fit the dccd Graham, however that neetronics unit sounds like a piece of kit. Hung up my overalls for the season now have to say i'm gutted and next season seems a long way off. Apparently the mega Dialynx A4 will be at Currborough for the hsa meeting next sunday on it's first outing, should be worth a look. Fancy a visit Graham?

I'm defo going (or however young people say it!)
If the weather is dry I might go in the 911 before chucking it outside to start ripping the Sti apart and getting my hands dirty at last.
Apparently the meeting is very undersubscribed I'm told today.
Hope to see you there, and thanks for the dccd info.

Out of interest mate whats the situation with your AST 3 ways for next season, are you sticking with them, have powerstation got some new stuff for you to try?
I don't really know about the suspension.
Powerstation have not asked for them back (yet)...hope they don't as they are great.
I am sure there is a lot more to come from them in several ways which I have a plan about.
I would hope to think that their sponsorship has been rewarded with sales over the 18 months I've been sponsored.
The market is inevitably limited in the end.
If 'better' = more complicated then I would need to think again. Hill climbing is a simple sport, and there is only so much you can get from a suspension system in 50 seconds!
Powerstation have not offered any alternative (if there is one) that is better than the current system which I am very happy with.
Would appreciate the heads-up on the A4 as I feel like you about Curb any time of the year especially as a spectator.

Meeting? Under subscribed? Any details so the rest of us might get a start, just for a one off?

I'm actually a member of HSA but haven't even looked at there events this year, instead doing a few, more local, sprints.
Didn't realise it's this Sunday, so will have to give it a miss.
Must get more organised for next year.

Rob:
I had the same early in the season! but on the front. Sometimes I leave the bonnet open for all to see the 'wonderful' engine/suspension to the spectators, but some fingers get too close?
Gerry:
Undersubscription has been a growing problem in sprinting for 2 years now, with some meetings dipping to 30 entries.
Costs and distractions to other interests are to blame, plus rules that are too complicated.
Loton Park is very rare in that it is always WELL over the numbers for ALL B meetings, and almost every A meeting.
We must be doing every thing ok so far as a Club
This year some people were asked if they would like to race for Sat and Sun at the hallowed Shelsley Walsh B meetings instead of just one day!
Never been heard of before. The opposite occured for the weekend A meetings.
I find a good trick at the start of the season is to mass book the events you will defo do in the year, but I have more senior moments than you and Rob put together!

I thought you may have had them at a substantial discount but not for free I just got a huge invoice instead

Graham, do you think the whiteline 4 point under brace is a worthwhile upgrade? I noticed it on your engine upgrade thread, thinking of getting one when the pillow ball top mounts go on, also what are your thoughts on corner weighting?
As usual all help much appreciated.
Rob.
