You may even have to undo the engine mounts and lift the engine a tad to give you enough clearance to slide the up-pipe out

I thought you had to remove the downpipe, then the turbo to fit new headers?

You have to remove the downpipe, to get access to 2 of the 5 nuts that hold the up pipe to the turbo.

My procedure:

Remove down pipe.
Remove the OEM Manifold
Unbolt the 5 nuts at top of turbo (2 DP Side, 3 Turbo side)
Release the up pipe from turbo (leave turbo where it is)
Undo drivers side engine mount bolt
Jack drivers side of engine up appro 1/2 inch
Remove OEM up pipe
Lower Engine
Re bolt engine mount nut (depending on headers you may have to undo again)
Fit new headers
Re fit down pipe

Question

Mmmm I had the downpipe off, the intercooler off, the induction off & i'd undone the up-pipe from the rest of the manifold. I was told that the up-pipe would come out with the turbo attached by taking it upwards?

It will

IF

You unbolt the oil feed, the water feed and the water return, and then pull hard to take the turbo out the oil return pipe.

BUT

that is one long winded and awkward way of doing it.

IIRC, I removed mine downwards without jacking the engine I was thinking at the time how easy it was, just a bit of twisting.

It is not a problem at all Bryan.

Hopefully you will have the car sorted this week.. let me know when you pick her up and I'll try and be there / meet you to check the map.

See your project thread, if you need 380s to borrow etc..

Thanks
Simon
