AP 6 pots - calipers - no discs.
(335mm AP Racing 6 Pot Kit £1,275. Normally £1,400) I assume this comes with discs?

AP Strap Drive discs - MY2002. I assume if he can source calipers he can get the strap drive discs?

The AP strap drive discs are only used with the Brembo STi 8 calipers , they are not for any other calipers

So you want AP 6 Pot Callipers (to replace your existing gold Brembos) with 335mm strap drive discs at the front and the matching strap drive discs to go with the existing rear Brembo callipers?

 

Prices on:
1. AP 6 pot calipers only, no discs. Will they will fit standard 325mm discs? Or do they have to be 335mm?
2. 335mm and 325mm Strap drive front discs.
3. Rear strap drive discs.

AP dont make a strap drive 335mm disc , the only one they do for the STi is a 326mm disc which is a direct replacement for the standard discs , I think they started doing these after making the strap drive discs to try and cure the huge warping problem that the EVO's have , perhaps they thought the Subaru's would suffer also , It doesnt seem to be the case though.

As far as I know a strap drive doesnt exist for rears , on the EVO's or Scoobies

Buckrogers - I have just looked on the AP racing web site for the strap discs , and you have to have a smaller pad with them or machine your pads down , the pads need to be 10mm narrower , so your loosing quite a lot of pad area there , the Godspeed 2 piece discs and bells use a standard sized unmodified pad so you dont loose any of the braking force as you will using the AP ones .

Ps - Whats wrong with using EBC ones

 

Buckrogers - Ian says that the Strap drive discs aren't in the group buy and as he sells his own discs - he wouldn't be interested in sourcing them. As an aside they only make them for the front.

He can, however supply the AP CP7040 6 pot calipers for £550 a pair

Whats the price likley to be for the 335mm upgrade, i.e 2 piece grooved disks, bells, brackets and spacers for calipers, but 'NO' pads ??

Is IAN supplying the AP 4 pot retail boxed kit with the braided hoses?

Or is he putting together his kit from individual AP parts?

Does the AP 4 pot 335 mm kit come with braided hoses?

 

The prices above are using AP calipers , ferodo DS2500 pads , and discs bells and bracket made by Godspeed , you can also specify if you want AP discs , or everything by AP but the prices go up.

The kit using 335mm discs are Ian's own discs as AP dont make a disc that size , in the kit you dont get hoses as your original hoses fit the AP calipers , but you can get a deal on a goodrich hose kit at the time of purchasing a kit , if your going to fit braided hoses its pointless doing just the fronts , you have to do the 4 to get the benefit of them
