I reckon you won't regret it! IMHO PPP turns the wrx into the car it should've been.

Oh, and start saving now for the Prodrive springs too!

Seconded on the springs - get the geometry done as well and the handling of the car is transformed - plus it looks so much better, no more opportunities for squirrels to nest in your wheel arches etc

I'm also going to have PPP on my bugeye, it is scheduled for tomorrow. I'll write my findings later

It has taken me also a long time to decide and 2 month waiting period from the dealer.... but finally tomorrow is the day.
I heard many very positive talks about tek3, but I don't know much about the reliability of it. For me one of the choices for PPP, besides warranty, was also the reliability.
Still I can't wait for tomorrow

As promised earlier, I'm writing my thoughts. Prepare for a long post
And here they are: WOW!!!! I just mean amazing!!!!
Picked up my car at 5:00 PM(and drove continuously for 2.5 hours) and just after I started it, I new that if not for else, then only for the sound was worth it. That is very nice sound, not too loud and emphasis on the burble. And the looks is great too with the prodrive logo on it.
But let's come to the rest. I was reading that the car has to "learn", get used to the new ECU software and only after about 500 km will start to get feelt. Well, trust me, you CAN really feal it. The moment I started driving I could feel the difference. Power was coming from much lower torque, around 2500 and stayed pretty much the same till 6500(didn't push for more -no point in my oppinion). And this in every gear. So like before in the 4th gear it started to peak around 4000 rpm, now from 2500 accelerates the same or better and stays like that till the red line. It is really amazing. I can feel the turbo kick much harder now and the car feels really quick. Also the engine sound seems to be a bit different, having a deeper tone. I'm curious to see if driving a bit more will get even faster or not. But I have to say that it is the first time after quite some time when I had to be more careful because of the extra power. Can't produce torque/power figures I'm afraid as I have no means, but was told that is about 40 bhp and 50 Nm...
Certainly especially for the bugeye the PPP makes justice.
Consumption wise I do think it consumes a bit more, however in my 2.5 hours I had several crazy moments. Hope my post will help anybody interested

PPP is well expensive £1 for bhp. Better off with decat exhaust (full or part) STI intercooler, TD05 16g and TEK 3 remap. U can get the bits off Ebay for less than £1000 easily and should get 320 bhp, poss more.

Get it done, keep the warranty and enjoy.

Well, I can finally answer my own question...........(at bloody last )

After much deliberation over PPP, or independent mods, I finally "bit the bullet" this week, and booked it in with John at Prosport (in Stockport for those unfamiliar). It was done today and what can I say but a resouding "WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

I really rated my WRX before this, but now, it really feels as though the beast has been unleashed. It is absolutely brilliant !

The extra torque transforms the power delivery, and creates bucket-loads of grunt from 2500k, straight through to 6500k. A 4k power band, which is not just smooth and linear, but brutal as well.

I could feel the extra power straight away, just making my way back down the A34, but once I hit the Motorway I got the chance to open it up (a bit), and the difference was massive. It even pulled much better in 5th gear, from the 70 mark, where it would previously have felt a bit flat until the turbo kicked in more. What a transformation !

Having said all that, the sweet exhaust note that now accompanies the extra grunt was probably alone worth the money. Very, VERY nice , and not too OTT. The two of us (my little lad came with me for the ride) went most of the way back with the windows down, just to listen to the sound !

So yes, as you`ll have gathered by now, it was WELL worth it in the end, at least for me anyway.

My justification goes like this (flame me if you will) :

My local dealer (not Prosport BTW) reckon that PPP will add around £5-600 come trade-in time. I also benefitted from the free-servicing offer when I bought it, which saves me around £8-900 over the 3 years). So............adding the two figures together, and you`re not far off the cost of the PPP. Add to that, of course, the fact that the warranty remains intact.

But, the greatest justification in the end, was simply that I wanted it.

There........, now that`s done, I can join the list with the rest of you that already knew what I now do, and advise anyone thinking about it to get it done.

End of..................except to say a final thanks to all those who helped me make the right decision.

Yeah, must admit, I did add the comment about PPP bringing extra at resale time, a bit tongue-in-cheek, although the dealer did actually say that LOL !

**** it anyway, life`s too short, and I`ll worry about resale when I come to sell it (not for quite a while yet though )
