I think I have it already with the 30mm taller scoop on the car now, hence 'top mounted fans'.
Will check-out Pacet too.

i dont think you will get fans mounted on the intercooler on your car as space is very limited, when andy mounted those huge fans on his car he didnt have the twin air ducts to cope with.

The TMIC get a lot of heat soak at the start line, you can be there ticking over for 5 mins.
I need to chill the whole TMIC prior to the off.
A hill climb is max 60 secs, usually 40secs.
If the fan speed/velocity is better than 'natural' airflow off the scoop then things are better.
If the fans are under the TMIC then the air from the scoop has still to get past the fans if they cannot move the incoming air fast enough.
Then there is the space available to squeeze it all in. More room on top.

Need to think it through a bit more then will start a thread in Projects to bore you all!
Anyone know who sells auxillary (ie Towing) fans cheaper than Demon Tweeks?

Graham.
Will keep an eye in projects forum.

The only reservation I have is the difference in airflow once moving.

i have a wrx mapped and modded a bit to 285ish. i have a psi3, the intake temp is only ever 3deg above ambient when moving, (although it rises very quickly and takes a lot longer to go back down if stationary for any significant period and once on the move again) so what would something like this kit acheive, how low to ambient could the intake temp hope to drop to, would 2 or 3 deg make a difference or is it the recovery from high temps from being stationary that is markedly better, or is the kit mainly for 'flow' (or even bling). can anyone explain?.

The intake temps you are seeing are those at the MAF ie before the turbo. It's the actual charge temp. that needs to be as low as possible. My experience of a chargecooler system, fitted to a Power Engineering turbo converted Mondeo I owned a few years ago, was that it worked very well. Inlet to the heat exchanger would be hot whilst the outlet really was cold! It had a two speed pump that switched according to on/off boost. P.E. claimed the highest charge temp. seen during testing was 38c

i am wondering if a TSL chargecooler is a more effective cooling device than for example tracktive front mount with reverse inlet manifold...

I understood this kit was initially aimed at those living in a warmer climate than ours, where it could make a huge difference.

IIRC / imho

how about -30 in winter and +35 in the summer - would you suggest using such device?
