i suspected my maf on a 93 a while ago. had the car running and then unpluged it. the car stalled instantly but thats not the way to check if the maf is working properly as i was once told.

p.s you two are killing me

Thats OK Alan .......... I didn't notice you were quite new to ScoobyNet - but, I have a certain way of posting, sorry about that.

It gets some backs up but others find it amusing - it 'always' gets a reaction.

I hope it has helped .... could you 'borrow' a MAF unit from someone to test it out?

might be worth posting up in the technical sections for a maf only part no. for your year model.

i know that for mine (99) the dealers try to charge for a whole assembly that costs about 300 quid, while the maf only is about 80.

Not sure you can buy only the MAF for a pre MY99 car??

I think it went from Hot Wire to Thick Film MAF in 1999??
