Pepper sprays/Mace and CS etc are section 5 firearms, and you face prison for possession. In practice you'd probably just be fined. But use it and it IS a prison sentence.
I rather suspect that dye spray would probably fall foul of the same clause ("designed to discharge a noxious substance") if anyone took an owner to court.

Oddly enough despite this personal assault and muggings are rare in most parts of Western Europe. We don't have "happy slapping" either- otherwise it would be closely followed with a "happy knuckledusting" on my part at least.

I have an 18 inch iron weights bar (with no weights on it) behind my drivers seat. If I was ever questions I would say it was a sex aid No NO I wouldnt really but its only there coz I was moving some things from my mums house over to mine and I "must have missed it" oops!!
I always lock my doors etc - habit is that - but should a stranger wish to discuss my driving habits or request an unauthorised journey in my much loved car I only need fear guns

I'm interested to know how people plan to wield their baseball bats inside their cars?
Don't you realise that a large screwdriver you've been using to tighten that oh-so annoying rattle in the car is far more practical.

It is perfectly legal to carry a steering lock or tyre lever, tow rope and plastic petrol can in your car.
You may find that after being beaten with a tyre lever, tied up with a tow rope and covered in petrol most car jackers will see the error of their ways!
Alternatively - as has been suggested, keep the doors locked!!

When i was working as a Prison Officer we were once visited by the plod just as we were coming off duty one night and they made all of us put our batons in the boots of our cars before we drove off, as they pointed out that once off prison property we were all breaking the law by carrying an offensive weapon if it was found in the driving area of the car!!!! What a load of B*ll*x!!
I pulled up 100 yards down the road and took mine back out of the boot and put it on the seat at the side of me as per usual. *****ng busy body coppers with nothing else better to do!!

A 4 Cell Maglite fits nicely between the passenger seat and the centre console, had mine there for 3 years when I had my Scoob and no amount of twisties would shift it!
Easily within reach when buckled into the drivers seat and small enough to swing in the car.
I was followed once when I had my Scoob, but knowing the local area and location of the police station was the best thing in that situation Still had the maglite on my lap though!

Suppose i took it back out of the boot as a point of principle because the interfering coppers had annoyed me!

i got arrested and my baseball bat was taken off me, the coper thrashed my car home, i said i would put up a hefty fight if they left it there in the middle of the city centre over night ,so he "offerd" to drive it home for me.
ended up getting another caution or sumthing (was a while back now)
ive scince replaced it with a telescopic wheel brace which does not seam to be telescopic anymore and has the biggest and heaviest 17/19mm double socket on the end of it i could find.

Once watched in amazement when a joiner pulled out a massive bloody nail gun and put one through the window of some guys that were threatening him. Dont know whether it was road rage or a car jacking........whatever it was they bloody **** themselves and ran leaving the car in the middle of the road.
Their faces were absolute pictures. Bet mine was too....................
