Sam, yeah l know you didn't complain, I just thought for the point of accuracy i should mention the only one that is not perfect - to my knowledge - and point out that the unfortunate one was the thread starter. Called Sods Law if I recall.

Keep in touch re the judder - OR come and have it changed 364 days after buying to get a free year........

Ok guys we're on! Please also add a phone number where we can reach you Monday morning and we'll call you and we can get clutches etc away to you to be there Tuesday. This clutch fits all above, assuming that Jammers is not a 6 speeder. We use the 230 mm in place of the early 224's - it fits straight on and is obviously a better deal.

Thanks for the business, we'll be in touch.

Good Luck all, David APi

An original flywheel weighs around 12 Kg's, we lighten the original one down to approx 7 -7.5 Kg's [ depends upon the mass of the metal ].

It has the advantage of reducing the reciprocating weight which means that it will take less effort to get it turning. IE the engine will rev quicker.

That do it?

Good luck David APi

David,

I'm in need of a clutch kit as well. Can you still sort me out with one of these.

The car is an MY98 WRX running between 300-350bhp, but who really knows!

Wayne.

PS 3 part kit only, no flywheel required.

you can take my place mate, as i went up to have my clutch fitted yesterday had the day off work (self employed so lost money) and they didnt have the right clutch for my car, despite me even quoting that everyone should put what car and year they have, which i did.
so once again for the second time in a row i've had a problem with api, and that being told one thing and when i get there being told another. hope the rest of you are not messed around

Sorry to hear that ScoobyDoo69, hope you didnt lose too much money...alot of my friends are self-employed so I know how annoying that can be...I have not been brave enough to try it myself, I like the idea of being paid when on holiday :-)...

Thanks for letting me take your place, I do appreciate it. I hope you mange to get your clutch sorted without any more hassle. Unfortunately my car is sat on the drive looking very sorry for itself at the moment as the clutch is pretty much dead and whatever life is left in it I need to get to the shop to get it fixed!! I will be sure to tell them the make and model etc so the right one is sent out...

Thanks again,
Mat

I was away on holiday when you arrived and was unable to have any input on this. The problem was purely that your car should have a 230mm clutch fitted, but there was a degree of uncertainty about whether there was a 240 mm fitted.

The last 240 had gone out the day before and we were reluctant to dismantle if were unsure that we could fix it without delay.

We thought we were doing the right thing by not inconveniencing you and leaving you without a car.

As for your second bad experience with APi I can't comment, as I am not aware of the first........... It will be unusual to have a bad experience here, let alone two

Good luck anyway.

regarding you were on holiday, thats not the point, as i'm sure you must have been able to order the part for me correctly before you went on holiday....?
the first bad experience was when i was told over the phone that an sti intercooler would be £250 then when i got to api you told me £375...
anyway theres no point in me continuing to sit here and slate you as companies have their mishaps all the time, unfortunately i've had 2 from you

Mine turned up next day

It was fitted 2 days after that at my local garage, they stripped the flywheel off for me to take away to be re-faced. Got that done while i waited then dropped it back for them to re-build it.

I've driven it around for a week gently to put some miles on it, and its excellent. Clutch pedal is no heavier and there is absolutely no judder. Don't want to give it too much grief yet as i'm doing a road rally in a week and a half so it'll get plenty that night.

Thanks for the clutch, Very happy customer.

Apologies, We ARE better than your experience suggests as most people on here will testify. The problem with the intercooler was the exchange rate fluctuation from the yen to the pound. Beyond my control I'm afraid.

Anyway I'd like the chance sometime to prove our abilities properly.

Just to add, I got the uprated Exedy clutch from David in the Group buy. I found the service and aftercare to be outstanding: next day delivery, great price and a brilliant clutch. Does not judder AT ALL even when the car is cold.

Adam, we're having major problems with our web server at the moment - only occasional connection since the 19th - so apologies for the delay.

I've emailed Japan from my home email and we'll se what we get. I usually use the Alcon single plate version with either a spring damped disc or sometimes the solid disc [ not recommended by me I hasten to add !]

That is an option I'd offer at a cost of around £490 plus a bearing if needed.

if the Alcon is any interest lt me know/ we'll get a rply rom Jpan in a dy or two. hopefully, off out quantity buying power for the ones we use on the Gb, we can get a competitive price.

l'll be in touch David

Really, yes as the last one concluded in July.

If you want to start again and get 5 people [ the minimum ] to make it work for us we'll go again.

Same as before 5 buyers gets:

Exedy performance clutch including a release bearing at £250.00 + VAT
If needed a light flywheel exchange at £120.00 + VAT with a £50 returnable surcharge on the old flywheel coming back to me in the case of mail orders.

Fitting at £200.00 + VAT including gearbox oil change.

Get it rolling if you want, we have plenty of stock.

Good Luck All David APi Impreza
