£50 set up fee! For less than a minutes work - how are you justifying that charge?

In case you haven't noticed, scoobynet requires round the clock moderation and round the clock web server / bandwidth.

It's not all about the initial set-up of an individual forum.

And to top it off. Please be aware that we are not charging anything for this. It's free of charge.

Here go's then !! Even i am a bit confused by all this !!

Yes over the last 5/6 Weeks i have been PM'ing Simon/ Shaun about ESC Having there own area ..

Mainly only tho as others have been moaning about all the ESC Posts in southern , Understand that alot of the comments are in jest .

I Have been offered forum space within other Websites everyday for the past 2/3 weeks as others are keen to get ESC On there site , But i have resisted as i understand @ The end of the day Scoobynet really is the place to be .

Yes i post lot's of events !! But we have a great crowd in Essex who turn up week in week out for meets , As long as people support the meets , The more i will keep posting them , I See it it more as a Family (ESC ) With Young children , Wives , Girlfriends , & Older Members all enjoying the same meets & Get togethers .

What other county takes 40+ Members out for a curry on a Sat night , Has over 30+ Members turn up On the 2nd & 3rd Thursday of every month for a midweek meet in the middle of winter & Supported a meet on NEW YEARS DAY With another 40+ Scoobs + Members .

You must understand the size & The force of the ESC !!

Rather than Regional .. If it could read ESSEX SCOOBY CREW That may help a bit?

Maybe it would be best if you could hit SOUTHERN , Then perhaps choose ESC .. That may be better ?

But then again going down this route , It means that i wil have to post 2 threads for each event that I/WE organise , One in ESC Forum the other in Southern ..

Just look @ The Brighton thread .. Esc day out ( Of course all are welcome ) But en route we are meeting with Kent , Surrey , Sussex , Hants , & Others , If i were only to post these threads in ESC We would lose out on meeting other like minded people .

Take for example all the national shows , Japfest , JAE , NBO , SBO , TRAX , All the shows @ Santa Pod , I Arrange the convoys for the ESC .. But then arrange to meet other counties en route , South mimms , Pease pottage , Toddington , Reading services to name a few , If these were only to be in an ESC Forum then others would miss out if they were unable to read , So it go's back to ESC Threads in SOUTHERN again

Yes i asked for this , But even i'm really un sure that this is the way to go ..

Shaun please don't take this the wrong way but I think wanting us to all fall at our knees and worship you for adding in another forum is a bit to much. I moderate the WR1oc and we have set up lots of forums in seconds. If round the clock moderation is the issue then just set up more mods! Just because you've set up another section for essex, just to please a few gremlins who were complaining about not being able to find posts in the forum, doesn't mean we should all be thankfull and then pay for the privilage of what was about 3 seconds work!

I do not intend this post as confrontational so please don't take it like that. But the whole point of this website is that it is FREE ... we are being made scapegoats just because Essex is a successful county with loads of subaru meets. If we all moved away from scoobynet the place would be a hell of a lot quieter. Tiny and Phil spend endless hours making the ESC what it is - I for one will not apologise for it being basically the entire southern section. what's the big deal about you setting up another section for us???????????????????????????????????????????????? ???

I Would like to add also that there is another Essex Scooby crew Forum all set up ready for us , If we do decide to move on , It's up to the ESC Members @ The end of the day .

I think you've mis-understood mate.

The forum IS called "Essex Scooby Crew". It is WITHIN the "Regional" section which has been given prime location.

The Southern forum is within the "Events" section of scoobynet. I am assuming that you want the ESC forum to be more than just about arranging events?

If not, I have mis-understood.

It appears to me that you've lost the plot a little, so I'm not going to attempt to engage you in detailed discussion. I did not want your to fall at your knees, and where you got that ridiculous notion from has nothing to do with me. A simple "thanks mate!" would have been nice though.

I've bent over backwards here to try to do everything you want. A simple "thanks" would have been a lot nicer than snide remarks and cocky comments.

It takes all sorts, so I'm not going to try to explain this any further with you.

I truly hope we've done something you want, and hope you'll enjoy it FREE OF CHARGE.

There is no need to adopt such a patronising tone Simon - I was only asking. £50 to insert a forum is very expensive. It is stated that if any others want a separate forum, the charge is going to be £50 initially.

I am quite aware the Essex forum was a free one, and I am fully aware of the boards moderation needs and server requirements.

Firstly, moderators work free of charge, secondly, there will be no additional postings as ESC will be posting their messages in the new forum which they would have posted under the Southern section, therefore not adding to the bandwidth usage at all really.

And before you retaliate again, don't forget that I have already paid you a subscription
