not gonna give u my exact settings cos they may not suit u, and also takes the fun out of u fiddling to see what u prefer so.......

standard c spec with a sports exhaust

maximum downforce front n rear..... geared to hit around 167ish flat out in 6th

soft springs (i mean really soft!!) to soak up the bumps and keep in on the deck... stiffer will increase speed but make it harder to keep in a straight line on the high speed bits so i play safe

damping near enough standard

stiffer stabiliser front..... not so stiff rear

slight camber increase on front to aid turn in

major increase in braking up front, not so major on the rear

pus all the goodies u can have, clutch, flywheel, prop, fully lightened, slicks (although i've only managed to afford medium slicks so far so more speed to be found later) racing box, racing suspension etc

I'm not sure these very low times are achievable with sticks, looks like I'm gonna have to get a wheel to compete

I'm using the control pad Dave! It's just whatever you are used to using really mate. That said, as soon as I have enough space i might have to invest in a wheel!!!

Im using a normal dual shock 2 ps2 control pad (its starting to feel a little past it now after constant use with gt3 and now gt4).

I have now progressed onto soft slicks and my times are now down to 6:56 but that is still making a few large errors and losing fair amounts of time.

I imagine with the qualifing tyres and an ever evolving setup I should be seeing aound 6:52 or maybe lower

WizzBang

ps these times are genuine and involve no corner cutting or traction controls etc.

Managed to set a half decent time last night, though it includes 2 major offs grass tracking, and crap suspension.

7:07.512

Suspension needs sorting, as it tends to bounce around a lot on the curbs, and I get way too much air on the first air section sending me onto the grass.

Usnig Dualshock2 for anyone interested.

Oh, one thing I cant understand is the power. My garage says 359bhp, then when in settings at the track it says 377bhp, and the replay says 356bhp

The only power mod is the racing exhaust, which I assume everyone else has?

I'm still running with 357! Only mod I have is the chip as everything else gets me over the 360bhp limit. Have managed to get my time down to a "respectable" 7:00:214 now, and I think there is a couple of seconds there but I made no errors and stayed smooth the entire time so it ain't going to be much!!

Managed

6:57.083

last night, with 2 trips onto the grass so should be quicker yet - now have near perfect suspension setup, except for at high speed when it seems to lurge about with the slightest stick movement.

Holy ****!!!

Saying that I managed a 6:55:257 this morning with soft tyres so I can see it being possible, still, that is damn fast!!!!

Best in any car so far is a 5:59 something or other, in a pescarolo Judd prototype car. Planning on a 24-hour race over the weekend with some mates to get the bentley so will see how it goes after that!!

Yes mate!! We've got a load of beers in and a barbecue so we are going to take turns of three hour stints or so then go for the full 24 hours!!! Should be wicked fun although TBH it's weird, you actually have to deliberately take your time to preserve the tyres or the AI cars will simply overtake you in the pits all the time!! Great fun!!
