This is just to confirm that markward and myself will be meeting at McDonalds at Bassetts Pole at around 09:00am on the Saturday morning ready for a leisurely drive up to Tibshelf (and the obligitory bacon butty )
If anyone else in from the West Midlands wants to join us in the convoy, then feel free to tag along,
Cheers,
mb

Oh, don't forget a towel if you want a shower in the morning
If it's a warm night you might need one, and it does help to wash away the effects of the night before
Only thing is I can't remember if I've actually used the ones at the campsite in the last 2 years
And don't forget a folding chair

Some good and bad news from yesterdays final recce:
Reasonably priced Optimax (88.9p/l) is available at the services on the A63, that's 60 miles from Tibshelf. If you are not getting low there then I suggest filling up at Staxton on the A64 (103 miles from Tibshelf) which should ensure you have enough to get home on Sunday
One of the roads I was gonna use is closed from today for 10 weeks so I have had to change the route slightly. It means a few more miles on 'A' roads and a bit more traffic (especially caravans ) but hopefully won't be too much of a problem.
Thankfully we should have adequate time to be able to enjoy lunch, see all the best aspects of the North York Moors and still be able to get the campsite for about 5 ish
Oh, if the weather up there next week is anything like yesterday's... don't forget your water wings, kayak and mount your tent on an inflatable dingy!
But I'm sure Lord Harding has booked the now customary superb weather again for next weekend!
Note to self: Don't forget your sun hat and sunblock

If you have a PMR radio then please bring it
We normally use channel 2, ctcc/tcs = 1
Dont forget such essentials as bottle openers and matches!

I think I'll stop off at Tesco in Thirsk to get some last minute food, bread and some beers It's gonna be too much to sort it all out on Friday night. Does anyone know if they do 'interesting' sausages like piri-piri etc.? (I never use Tesco around ere)
Just remind me to get the chicken out the freezer on Thursday so it can be marinating
At least the route is finished

Can't wait to see who forgets something Never been on such a planned camping trip, as far as equipment goes anyway. I'm liking Flat's approach, bowl up with what you have, if you need something that you haven't got, nick it off of someone else
