Anyone fancy camping over for NBO 3?

It's gotta be asked :D Had great fun during NBO 1 & 2.

Typically we drive to a camp site close to Lightwater Valley on the Saturday, do the camping, BBQ thing Saturday night :D :luxhello: Amble the very short distance to the event, walk about and recover, say hello and then drive home late that afternoon.

So there you have it, Camping Saturday 12th June, NBO 3 on the 13th. Kinda a cool weekend if you ask me :D

Who's in?

CharlieWhiskey 10 February 2005 10:19 PM

TonyG 11 February 2005 08:30 AM

Argh! Yet again, I've managed to book a holiday on the same date as the NBO. Next year I'm going to have to plan a bit more carefully...

Ho, Mikey, where you been hiding then?

Gridlock Mikey 11 February 2005 09:29 AM

Bill, you need as much as you can drink really :lol1: So 4 tins of Stella will probably do for you

Charlie, thought we could go go the scenic route, you know, Via Bournemouth :lol1:
So any other takers?

I'm sure we can get some exotic BBQ treats to tickle your tastebuds.

Shall I start marinating the Jerk Chicken now Mikey? ;)

CharlieWhiskey 04 March 2005 12:54 PM

get back up there! ;)

CharlieWhiskey 19 April 2005 02:27 PM

Well it's only 8 weeks to go till NBO3 so I thought it was time to resurrect this thread ;)

Plan will be similar to last year, meet up at Tibshelf Services (or possibly Woodhall for the Chesterfield/Sheffield lot) on Saturday 11th about 10:30 and have a nice drive up via the Peak District or the North York Moors.

Camping at the excellent Sleningford Mill campsite in a reserved area, a BBQ or pleasant walk to the local riverside pub followed by a few more beers :D

Sunday, get up late, suitably refreshed ;) and drive the couple of miles to Lightwater Valley, avoiding all the crowds coming the other way :D

So who's up for it?

Gridlock Mikey 22 April 2005 02:39 PM

:Suspiciou

Yep, got 2 jars of the genuine Walkerswood 'Hot' Jerk Marinade so it should be good :thumb:

What was that other one we did for Muppet Camp Mikey? Apricot/Mango & chilli or summat:confused:

Had a little run up the North York Moors on Friday (via the M18) I reckon I could get a decent route out of that, or do you want to see what you missed last year Mikey ;)

flat4 25 April 2005 10:51 AM

not long now i may be bringing R.B allong with us hopefully in his car wat do we do about the bbq food mate just bring it in a cool box ?? how we gona keep the beer cool ??
cheers paul

Gridlock Mikey 11 May 2005 02:47 PM

Spose i'd better be getting some sort of organising head on here

Right then, as far as beer storage, food storage etc etc etc is concerned, stock yourselves up with the booze that you think you are going to drink and double it ;) Stick it in a cool box/bag and the rest will sit in the shade when we get there :D The same for food, however see if you can bring summat "interesting" for the BBQ as well as the standard burgers/chicken bits and sausages.
You will also require some kind of BBQ, two or three of those disposable ones are fine and between us a few bags of charcoal. The BBQ's tend to get lit early on and then stay on all night so folk can nibble as they please.
Obviously you will require a tent, some chairs (Those fold up ones are cool) andif you have a Gazebo of some sort, they rock for later in the evening when it gets a bit chilly.
Charlie, the route is upto you old boy, you know me, I'll drive anywhere for a giggle.
R.B it would be great if you could be bothered to turn up ;)
Wrx Bill, bet I can eat more than you :thumb:
Flat, what are you coming in (or hoping to at least :lol1: )

Charlie, was it campsite called Slenningford mill?

flat4 11 May 2005 03:23 PM

my car's actually running

and Slenningford Mill is the correct :)
