ive got it down to ten hours turnarround time now but it never gets easier - buy a laser 14 long series ring spanner - it is invaluable for the difficult to get to turbo to downpipe nuts and 2 or 3 of the bellhousing bolts - im doing another change on sat hey ho !

Iv done gearbox changes on all my cars i have owned but after reading this im not going to even attempt it, i shall load the new box, diff and clutch in the boot and drive it to a garage.

I've done 3 Impreza gearbox changes and 3 Impreza engine changes. I'll take the engine change anyday

Have this coming up myself, getting a bit of judder and slippage at full tilt. May go down the route of taking the engine out to replace the clutch method. Not too keen on a gear box falling on me (again - help a mate many moons ago - got stuck - it hurt lol)

Just repied so i can find the thread in a week or so's time when i get time to pull my box out!

Cant say im looking forward to it, but if i can change an engine on a 200sx in the snow then im sure i can remove a gearbox in the cold and wet!
