scooby owners in the Manchester/Cheshire owners mostly let on - apart from the Upperclass wife's car type (usually a Impreza Wagon - with Gold speadlines) - they tend to look down their nose at attempts to 'let on'!

Know what you mean about London drivers - although I am one! I wave at all Scoobies, but the London contingent generally don't respond.

I also slow down on motorways (or speed up) when I see another Scooby so I can get in to a waving/flashing position!

Have noticed non-Scoobies flashing me, now realise it is Scooby drivers forced to drive other cars

Cool

Funny how it seems London Scooby drivers are not wavers.

Given that I spend most of my time in traffic when drving around the big smoke the excuse that you don't see people in time to wave can't be used

I'm a london scooby driver (if surrey counts) and wave at other scoobs! Most of them wave back too (apart from the 2 sets of over 70s I see in 5dr UK turbos in my home town).

I've never had a wave back from scoobs on the motorway travelling in the same direction as me - it's like they have blinkers on or something!

This is what I mean Fosters. I caught a P1 at a round-about, when we got round the other side, I flashed, and he didn't even notice. (So I just overtook him and said sod yar!), THEN a Green R reg came up behind me on a the slip round, I waved, and he just looked at me, as if to say 'Plonker'

I think that if the ScoobyNet sticker idea took off then we could at least expect a wave off the drivers displaying the sticker.

I have put the SIDC stickers on the front and back windows of my car and this seems to attract more waves/flashes than when I didn't have them on.

If we could advertise the ScoobyNet via these stickers then other Subaru owners may ask what it means and eventually all ScoobyNet drivers will be waving at each other!

Is there any progress on these stickers?

Paul.

I'd put ScoobyNet stickers on mine (tax disc holder on the front and one in the rear window) to replace all the many Bell & Colvill stickers!!!

At the end of the day - does it really matter if some one waves to you!

Peter L - yes your are right - i slowed down a when i saw a nice black 4 dr Scooby - let him overtake, followed, overtook - it was as if i was not there, maybe he thought i fancied 'im. Didn't of course - Liked the car though - i shall persist with me waving and sod 'em if they do not respond!

I'm in London and I wave. Funny, though, I've also found that although quite a lot of people wave when you're facing them , they do have blinkers on when you pass alongside .

H.

I rang that number and it wasn't Lisa Scott Lee, you git!

How can you sing so sweetly when that keyboard tells such lies? No waves from me until the songstress e-mails me! What colour is your car?

I've had more 'nice car' waves from RS owners than subaru owners.

I think I've mentioned before that Aberdeen is crawling with Scoobies, every man and his dog has one. I have "communicated" with precisely 2 others, one young lad whose car looked like it has just come off a forest stage, the other was an old gent who gave a very enthusiastic wave! Seems just about every owner has the car for the wrong reasons, rarely have I come across a Scoob being driven with intent around here (and I don't mean racing around the city, there are some fabulous roads five minutes outwith the city limits).

Certainly get more contact from younger lads in their hot-hatches, at least they seem to respect what the car stands for.

There's nothing worse than waving at someone who doesn't respond, it makes you feel like a pr*ck!

I always wave and always get a wave back. Must be the girlie touch. To all you scooby drivers around Chelmsford, who are now probably sick of me waving at you, please don't stop.

CarolynT-S - Can't say I've found the same thing happens to me. I usually wave and flash but get blank looks. Maybe they all think I'm the wife and not worth responding to. More annoying 'cos it's actually my car!

So.... anyone out there from Hampshire, don't forget to acknowledge us girlies too

Jo

YOUNG GED - Red Mica(MY00), did have a Blue(MY98) but there is now at least three of them, always see one around the Heswall area but she never waves and there is one in Tranmere but I've only ever seen it parked.
Know what you mean about Vectra drivers I can't be a###d with them any more and let them go on their merry way.
Going to the Northern Meet 4??
If so maybe go up in a mini convoy

I try to flash my lights to give oncoming Scooby drivers enough time to recognise me..... still doesn't work all the time.

However, recently met an oncoming Scoob in a village and he not only flashed his lights in reply, but then gave a big thumbs up with a *huge* grin as he passed!

I live in North Manchester and I find most scoob drivers wave back. Whenever I see a Scoob coming towards me my other half says I behave like a big kid...flashing lights and waving etc.

Its been changed to the rising of your middle finger!
Over here pedestrians don't wave back either.. normally on a Fri or Sat night they just throw a bottle or something..

Now you know I was only being sarcastic about the sti versus UK cars thing! - There all fantastic cars - and I wave to all Scooby's

Should be at Northern Meet 4 - mines a VERY LOUD cool grey sti 5 T plate - with a few niceties - like AP brakes and about another £5k of goodies
Barry Davies

Wakefield and leeds you say - I'm around Wakefield quite a bit - see at Northern Meet 4
