Agreed! Wouldn't buy one new even if won lottery ten times over, would happily buy one secondhand in a year or two tho'

But then again mine= 350bhp/ton

The original question has been answered, dont! If you must upgrade anything, make it the brakes and suspension or upgrade the driver to make the car 'quicker' to drive.

Otherwise if 300bhp is a must, buy a car that was built for it.

330bhp would also need sti turbo, injectors and intercooler

STI 8 intercooler £200 ish second hand
STI 8 injectors £300 ish second hand
I thought this post just about summed it up at the start and I would agree with Marks post after, about the fuel pump.

280bhp is a good figure, but you pushing the td04 hard to get 300bhp.

Back to the original question............ here's my menu for a daily driver 300 BHP plus a bit

TD05 front entry conversion turbo
STi Intercooler
Samco Silicon hoses
Sti Pink Injectors
FSE fuel pump
FSE fuel pump regulator
3 port boost solenoid
EcuTeK 3 Custom re-map by BRD (Bob Rawle) 1.38 bar max
Ported and wrapped headers
NGK PR7 plugs
full de-cat
K & N filter

Sorted !!!!

Can't argue with your list. Other (but suitable spec) injectors, uprated TMICs would do the job equally well, some people prefer different headers, some people prefer sports cat for emmissions etc. Other people than Bob could do the mapping (whilst I agree Bob is one of the best), 3 port isn't strictly necessary, merely better. All variations on the theme though.

Don't go too far on the "plus a bit". More than say ~320lbft, the standard WRX gearbox, clutch etc starts to struggle. If you want a lot more, you're better off starting with an STi rather than a WRX, as numerous bits are stronger.

I haven't got an Evo mate, wife's got a 5 that's got 330lb/ft torque, I prefer something lighter and faster with AP brakes all round

Funny how a brief mention of an Evo always gets a few eejuts saying they are cr&p cars, but I guess they are either under 17 or have never driven one. Throughout this thread, I've maintained Scoobs are good cars and suggested the original enquirer thinks about BRAKES before thinking Max Power.

One mention of an Evo and some one bites.....everytime, that's why I enjoy SN, I also enjoy shooting fish in barrels
