To fit the phase 1 / 1.5 they might come with adaptors hence more for early ones than newer.. no problem with that, I only mention it as you say above direct fit into phase 1.5 rails.

Yeah, those don't fit directly to your rails but are believed to be the best injectors available right now. They are Phase 2-fitting so will come with Phase 1/1.5 adaptors (same as John uses) and like Simon says, there is nothing wrong with that. Scott (flat4) could sort you out with some direct-fitting Phase 1/1.5 injectors although spray pattern and idle characteristics may be compromised.

Agree with Carl.. the phase 2 new 550s are much nicer than any direct fit phase 1 / 1.5.. the spray pattern at low duty is nicer, for economical cruise and smooth idle etc..

Cheers chaps, I have been on the phone to MarkA from LP and he has said the same, however, even if you buy new injectors the delivery can vary as much as 7% per injector. When you are mapping the car you take the reading from the wideband placed the DP so if 3 were performing correctly and the other was running 7% down (leaner than the other 3) this wouldn't be seen. What I'm trying to say is that there is no way of checking an individual injector when it's fitted (correct me if I'm wrong), so by buying new and having them flow tested before Mark can then sell a set of 4 with the same flow rates, OK they are a little more expensive but it's better than melting a piston.

JGM - a tweak of the map will be required for the bigger injectors

Yep you know for sure then.

you can tell by removing plugs but a bit of hassle and you need to have run the car etc..

I had my headers off the car last night and was shining a torch at exhaust valves to compare colour.. lol and look at exhaust ports.. all the same phew..

Let me know when tweak required and I'll be there.

This is what I've been doing for the last 3 hours with a dremel

The plating in the fuel cup was flaking and considering the injectors had only been fitted and used for 94 miles they were full of sh1te.

The knock and lamba link are on the workmate in the garage at the mo as the led's will be removed from the boxes and fitted else where, pictures to follow.

you could do that.. wouldn't want to burden Collin, and no rush on getting my hands on them.. well not for another couple of weeks.. (I am away on holiday all next week)

Exhaust Valves are not a problem.. hoping to replace them or all the valves..
just need to put the accumilated bits together to see where to go from there.

Thanks

You just need to ask if you want to test it for me pop over for a cuppa.

These will be fitted in the main instrument panel at some point, that should be fun.

God did i ever hate doing that! I seriously leave the Lambda alone and stick it in the drivers air vent, it was almost born to go there and at least for me was perfect for visibility etc. Not the best picture but you get the idea...

Best thing is it's a completely reversible mod and you still have a Lambdalink and dashboard in one piece once you're done with it.

Yep it's all back on track, I wish it was a just a big bunch of flowers it would have been cheeper. At the moment I'm finishing off all the little jobs around the house that need doing not good, it's costing me money that I would much rather be spending on the car.......

The handling is slightly different due to the additional weight at the front of the car. I've had the car for so long now that I can notice any slight change in the weight distribution. Feels kinda like there's a 2.5 under the bonnet and that it's a little nose heavy. Not a substantial change due to the coilovers coping very well but it's noticeable.

Yeah deffo bring on the re-map. Looking forward to seeing what a difference it'll make.

I think I need to shave a bit more of the fan housing so I may do that at some point. I'll just take the fan out and dremmel it a bit more

Nice Mind you if she ever finds out you're a dead'un LOL

Brian - I've had Kev on the phone with some car trouble. Sounds like it could be plugs or coils so he might be in touch shortly for some suggestions and a little help
