There does seem to be one law for one and one for another, not that long ago i was doing about 75mph on the motorway, in the middle lane, when a police car overtakes me in the outside lane, didnt see him for long as he was certainly shifting, what annoyed me was he did not have his lights on.(Any plod want to confirm if this is allowed) Just interested in the result if the roles were reversed.

I have been saved about 4 times , it is the best thing I have ever fitted to a car , like you say you doing 80 on the motorway with everyone in front or behind you and you come round the corner and bang ( I live in Wales where they have camera vans everywhere ) it beeps like hell and the light flashes , on with the brakes to 70 and turn it off , they get a legal reading and I go off happy pass them and turn it back on...
I did have a Snooper S6 neo but found it crap with the camera vans , went past loads and could even see them in the back looking through the sights of it and it didn't give out a peep , and I know where all the fixed ones are which is the only time it made a noise so I sold it.
I do get lectures off people especially ex-plod - about having it fitted , 'it gives you a licence to speed ' and all that , but I would like to think I'm responsible enough to treat my driving with respect , there is a time and place to go fast and all that.....

I know a certain area that will unofficially "allow" upto 82mph on the motorway I'll not mention the other "limits".

It's great how the original topics on a lot of threads on Scoobynet digress at such a swift pace....
...anyone for a nice hot cup of tea in front of the tele??

I've never had my RA go off at traffic lights etc (in fact i have never had a false alarm - its only ever gone off twice in 3 months), but this definetly picked the laser gun up around the corner. IIRC, traffic lights etc don't use laser, they use radar.

road angels/snoopers etc only let you know you have points/ban on the way. In a way its a bit of a con how they use the 'picks up lazers' as a selling point. The only to stop mobile vans/lazer guns nicking is by getting an LRC-100 or such like

Sorry to butt into this thread does anyone know what the funny instrument is, which the police have, usually they are parked on the road side with an unmarked car and some police up ahead with marked cars they have a tri pod with a little thing on it which looks like a solar panal or sometimes it's like a camera this is sort of new and i was wondering what it does, or detects?

Just to let you know if you don’t want to go down the jammer route. Road Angel does a number plate sensor to help you detect camera vans better. Its £49.50. I bought one last week it’s saved me the 3rd day I fitted. I had to ring Road Angel for this part as it’s not on there web site. You get all the fixtures and fittings in the kit and an instruction manual. I had to purchase an extensions cable because of where it’s mounted in my car. Road Angel sent me this for free when I explained it was 6inches to short. There customer services are Excellent and are always willing to help out

Have a LRC100 and a road angel,
LRC100 has saved me 3 times with camera vans and once with plod with hand held in the last 6 months (Same group buy as bob). Road angel has only gone off three times in total!!! and missed the last camera van!!!
I wouldn't drive without a LRC100 etc after having one. Road angel is fantastic for fixed camera's but it's to late once the plug in radar detector has gone off.
Buy both and have happy motoring!!!!
