Amazing the 2 for 1's you can get in Burtons these days.

All that extra money saved I can go and have my midlife crisis in my wildly over-priced car!!!

GP, has anyone suggested keeping the 205 but swapping the engine? I had a Citroen BX 16v new, and it was damned quick; certainly faster then my Porsche. I understand that minimal modification will realise about 200Bhp and the engines sell for bobbins now. Id consider getting the sump professionally baffled and getting the Pug's shell prepped professionally or fitting a strengthening kit & seam welding the the bodyshell yourself. With the stronger 'shell and the modified sump you can move up to intermediate tyres or cut slicks/road legal 'semis'. Youll have spent a fraction of your £18k budget and youll be cutting 40 seconds of your 'ring time! (I made that last bit up).
