I quite like the look of the Type-R's, in fact I even considered getting the Mrs one but saw one today and there's something that really bothered me about it that I've never noticed before...

...it sounded like it had a 1.1 engine...

George Michael is reportedly after new WRX after someone mentioned that it sounded like a careless whisper !

While we're on the subject .......am I right in thinking that the spec C is quieter than an Sti due to the phasing of the exhuast gases ?

Trolls usually start an argument and are then never seen again.

I say fair play to Scrappydoo - at least he's made an effort to back up his posts even if (just about) everyone disagrees with him.

I'm not on scrappy's bandwagon, but I just find it abit funny when you compare cars that belong in totally different leagues to each other. I like the STI and I don't doubt its performance but it costs £10k more, with an extra 65bhp on top of the Civic, its hardly a fair comparision is it?

How about comparing a standard Civic to a similarly powered WRX? Or a Jackson Racing Supercharged Civic against an STI? Now that would be a better comparision.
Your reply is true. Different league. Similar thing between an STI and AMG.
But if you've read the thread. Someone claims to have a cheap CTR quicker than AMG's, STI's, and Evos. So why would I compare an STI to a JRS CTR???

I was once hassled by someone in an old Galaxy; it looked like it had been to Mars and back. I fought like a Lion, but try as I might, I couldn't breakaway.

I know what you mean. I was bowled over like a skittle when this saab aero 9-3 decided to take a timeout in the inside lane as i was following him. I was expecting a real crunchie mess. Lucky i managed to stop but i did have a quiet wispa in his ear and he apologised. Lucky break hey?

Default Subaru Imprezza WR1 vs Fiat coupe

I had a brief bit of fun with a WR1 in Stevenage yesterday,... just wondered if it was anyone on here,.. it was VERY quick!,...mmmm and very nice.

Just had a brief run to my old hunting ground in Stevenage , since I've moved ,I miss the plethora of boy racers around there, anything from Supra's to Boxers M3's 993's as well as chav wagons etc

I came up behind a very late Subaru Impreza WR1, I think? really beautiful car.

anyway it looked like this

[image]http://www.import-heaven.net/images/specs/subaru_impreza_wrx_sti_[/image]

A really nice silver blue mettallic, came behind it along the dua lcarriageway, it was turning left down my favourite dual carriageway, I was hoping he would go for it.........

Well,...I turned the Blitz to 1.3 bar, never run it higher than one bar these days since the remap , but thought, I might need a few more horses

Sharp left hander down dual carriagweay,...wohooo he's off... Coupe kicks in hard, luckily we're both going downhill slightly, so no wheelspin, I'm in his boot, and have to lift off,.....6500rpm, and then into 3rd, this time, I'm still quicker, have to lift off, so pull into inside lane to start pulling behind , at 110 leptons, we both ease off.....

Coming up to next roundabout, I know this one well, and can take the straight ahead route well, knowing the line after years of commuting, but a car slows us down to a stop. The STI chap looks across, oh dear, this is going to be a drag start, and the roads are pretty slippy

Off again, wheelspin I change quickly into 2nd, going round sharp left hander uphill out of roundabout almost instantaneopusly wheelspin , so I change early into 3rd, some slight more wheelspin..dammm he suddenly grabs 2 car lengths , and then the Coupe is pulling hard, methanol squirting into the engine , and I'm starting to pull on him, by 100 leptons I've managed to just about pull behind.....
I flash my lights, he gives me the thumbs up

Best fun for ages!

so mixed result, damm FWD

so straight line

Coupe 1 Impreza STI 2003 0 (close)

Drag start
Coupe 0 Impreza STI 1

Blo*dy 4wd traction, I'm never going to beat that with road tyres

The person who stole your car goes from town to town doing the same. People call him a drifter!
