Rooney has a bit of a temper issue - big deal - he isnt the brightest (bless him) - so like the petulent anti man u fans you are, you lash out...Sad...
Over the next 14 years this lad will become a world superstar and integral part of your beloved England team...In the next competitive match you'll all be cheering him...Its a bad case of Beckhamitis by Joe Public...

Wayne - I know it was spare of the moment fella - ignore the scousers - your an honorary manc now all is well...

P
I actually don't mind Man Ure, pain in the **** yes but you have to respect the best team in the land over the 90's
Rooney is a talented player but that puts him in the media spotlight and he should be more aware of his actions

Rooneys behaviour was the only worthwhile piece of viewing I thought. Stifling his aggression and turning him into a modern day pónce is what this country is about now unfortunately.

Other countries have had at least one player like Rooney in their team for years. England have always been accused of being too nice.

As for throwing the arm band down, well, I don't suppose he knew Emlyn Hughes personally anyway. Where as I think it was not the best move on tv, I can't help thinking what all this sudden found "false respect" this country has started to display.

The game from a football point of view was nothing short of a disgrace.

Oh did I miss the squad listing? I didnt see jasey-sibling on the teamsheet? Comparing your brother to rooney is nothing more than pointless - unless of course he is a multi-millionaire international soccer star.

Yes he was bang out of order but at least the lad shows some passion for his country when playing - which is a lot more than most do these days.

Simon.

Trying to start a punch up, crying like a baby when subbed and not shaking hands with his replacement, doesn't mean he's passionate, it means he play for ManUre

Like these comments from Gary Neville they must be a contender for some award too

Defending Rooney on Radio 5 news...

The 'nudge' on Casillas was something you see every week in the Prem, it was an accident

He made a couple of clean tackles that were incredibly harsh to given as fouls, would never have been booked in the Premiership

Was 'victimised' by the referee.

And that wasn't beer he was drinking, he was desperate for a drink of water, and the only thing he could find was a washed out beer bottle to put some in.

Good old Gary, eh?

IMO Rooney is quite simply destined to be the next Gazza - involved in episode after controversy after incident; always the prodigious talent who never lived up to his ability because of his personal life and probably lack of fitness as he gets older.

I'd be much more worried were Rooney the ultimate professional with his level of ability, rather than the thick, petulant character you saw doing his best to get sent off against Spain, and disrespecting the memory of a man whose boots he wouldn't have been fit to clean on his way off the pitch.

It isn't his age - Rooney is quite simply an idiot, who I guess will never, ever change as it is in his nature. To me Manchester United's £25m investment looks a bigger risk every week that goes by....

Blah blah blah googoo fonger jonger woooble pooony is all I heard then?

The ramblings of a person who's opinion is always so anti-United and is always so fast to jump on every ABU bandwagon going that the opinion has been reduced to being worth nowt. Have a think about your own team for a change, you seem obsessed with United and you sound like a bitter blue!

When discussing national level football you should be able to take off your kopgoggles and look at the entire teams performance and behaviour not just the United elements.

Okay okay let me have my bit

For my sins i am an Everton Supporter and have been a season ticket holder for many years. I was also lucky enough to live just up the road from where Everton reserves and youth teams play and regularly watched them with my son who sadly last year was released from Evertons youth academy.

I would hope i have a little more insight into the workings of Wayne Rooney compared to a few peeps on here.

I've seen this lad from around the age of twelve on numerous occasions and all ii can say is that he is the most naturally gifted player i have seen since, ooh i dont know, GAZZA

He is highly competitive and wants the ball all the time. He sees himself better than anyone else he plays against (which is a fair assumption seeings as he is better than 99% of the Premiership).

He gets frustrated when he doesn't get the ball and becomes petulant to beyond belief. In the international game its about keep ball and close marking of play makers, something Rooney doesn't like. I've seen him get little taps on the ankles and marked as if someone had glued him to a defender and he hates it. Normally a brief display of brilliance will show him as the class player he is but at this higher level [Europe and World Football] he gets found out and exploited.

Teams, pay him little respect at their peril and i think seasoned internationals and world class players can stiffle his abilities. There are stories i could tell you about the type of person he has become but frankly whats the point, most really gifted footballers are tossers anyway

Him not shaking hands with Smith, ripping the armaband of and even drinking a bottle of bud is Rooney all over. He just will not become a world class legend, he doesn't have it in him, he is just too self centered and arrogant. Talking to a few peeps in the know, a lot of players at Everton blamed Rooney for the unease in the dressing room and the poor results from last season (17th) Most were glad to him go.

He will never be a great because his attitude is that if he doesnt get his way and "show off" his arrogance then he becomes very petulant and displays such as the other night will become very common for United and England.

Dont get me wrong i admire him as a football player and he's one of the best around today, sadly he aint gonna become a great

Oh and all this sh1te about him being thick, i can asure you he is very intelligent and knows exactly what he's doing. Dont forget he's played for England at various levels. He was a very capable student with 10 years of playing at the top level even higher than that to which he was expected to. This crap that he's thick is just daft, stupid for thinking he can swagger around doing what HE wants to all the time, yes but he's intelligent dont put it down to him being a Dunce

Don't you think that Ferguson will sort out his petulant attitude ?

If he did anything like that at a Man U game, I reckon Fergie would have him on the bench until he learnt his lesson!

If he can't act like an adult, treat him like a kid.

BTW I'm not a Man U fan

Sunday League like everyone else

We were on "team of the week" years ago. Sadly they thought the highlight bit to show on tv was the jack russell running around the pitch

I quit sunday football some 4 years ago now... a combination of feeling like cr@p due to being still pi55ed from the night before and also waking up Monday with legs covered in bruises fdue to the other player being in a similar state and doing to truely terrible tackles!
