Right or wrong that's the system we live under and now these people, who usually quote the rule of law, have decided to selectively ignore it. Well tough titty, welcome to the real world, you are now under the same restrictions as the rest of us.
It's painful to realise that society and the rule of law is a double edged sword. As I've said before there are plenty of things I'd like to indulge in, or have the possibility of indulging in, that don't harm others yet are proscribed by law. Life is a bitch, learn to live with it.

Buy cars and products that are made at home
Or sell more cars and products overseas - and stop being so reliant on this country's own markets

The current operational regimes employed and operated by the government severly affects many UK based companies competitiveness, which has a knock on effect on the economy.

Money is more important than foxes

What ever happened to live and let live then? Or those oft trumpeted New Labour virtues of tolerence and diversity? It's all a load of politically correct twaddle, and issues like this expose the New Labour biggots for what they are.

Whilst I agree, to an extent, about your global economy comment there are some things our govenment could do to help e.g. reduce the huge bureaucratic burden placed on UK companies/employers. Unfortunately, a fat chance of that happening - they're far too busy dreaming up and enacting yet more new legislation.

Of course, there are other culprits too. Many aspects of British agriculture wouldn't be in such a mess if the major British supermarkets had been rather more supportive of our own producers.

MP's have just voted to delay the ban until 31st July 2006........

So after any General Election then, Labour c*nts.

I also like the way John Prescott is happy to try and set up his own little devolved empire in the North East, but they don't want it! God forbid they should offer the same autonomy to the countryside instead?
I PMSL at that. It was the funniest thing for ages. Prescott thought he was onto a sure fire winner with that little scam, but people are finally wising up to the fact of New Labours devious schemes now.

A cunning ploy to let the Tories take the blame for it, assuming they win the election. Not that I trust the Tories any more than I trust Labour but it is a bit off that Labour can introduce highly unpopular legislation and then try and make it look like the fault of someone else.

This also reduces the media impact of such things as, by 2006, the media will be bored of fox hunting and so will have no interest in reporting the effects of the ban. To the people in the towns everything will look like it is wonderful and the fluffy bunny animals are having a nice time sitting about in the sun and enjoying the brave new world.

A cunning ploy that hopefully will be shoved up their ***** by the Lords. If the Lords vote against the amendment, then the ban will be enforced in Feb 2005. Just hope enough peers are still there to vote.

Then we can get on with making Labour's lives a misery what with Iraq, pensions, CSA etc etc to throw at them during the next general election, which everyone know's they want to call next year.

Of course that's another ironic example of the double standards exibited by the anti hunting lot. They all want to drive to the local supermarket and buy cheap processed food that gives no clue as to its origins. A perfectly cylindrical sausage for example has no visual link to the pig from which it was derived (if your lucky). And of course the animals reared for cheap food live in the most abysmal conditions and are treated with far more cruelty and for far longer than any wild fox.

I don't understand why governments don't have the guts to repeal some of the daft laws that have been brought in by predecessors. It would be nice to see the next Conservative government shred this ludicrous ban and throw the tatters in Tony's face.

*sigh* We live in hope!

I didn't say next election, I just said the next Conservative government. But then I can think what I like, until Tony demands control of our minds too, that is!

If he had any concept of what goes on in my mind I would have been banned long ago!

The day I feel Tony has more control over my life than I do will be the day he gets a semtex hug from me, middle eastern style!

Don't think you'll find many hoorays at the Llangeinor Hunt in South Wales valleys... Maybe you should take a look one day, see what it's all about.

Fox hunting rocks. If they outlaw it maybe we should move it on to hares/bunnys, or a specialy trained cat. yes, cat hunting, sounds like my kind of sport.

Is there a double meaning in there - or is it just my suspicious mind?

I wonder what percentage of cat owners are for the ban on fox hunting anyway.... I'd love to know! It would be just like them to brand fox hunting abhorrent as they sit cocooned in cuddly wobbly jelly land drinking barley water from rose tinted crystal glasses perched on doilies, with their unfaltering Cherie Blair smiles and beady eyes looking on approvingly as their furry "occasional pets" reek havoc on the indigenous mammal and bird populations, decimating endangered species right left and centre!!!!!

Before i get completely Flame I Don't work on a Farm or have anything to do with Fox Hunting, Directly or indirectly

It is sad 40 men and women, 30 Horses and 25 dogs chasing round a Fox to kill it, I agree. Also agreeing it's not the most Humane way to kill a Fox.

But there scant regard for 'The Countryside Ecology' or 'The Fox'

The Hunt, has no wish to wipe out this cruel preditor. At the moment the Countryside Ecology of Farmer/Fox/livestock is being maintained. There are many too many healthy Fox Families in the Hereford contryside, which are 'Protected' from being shot by Farmers because of the Hunt. As with all Farming a balance is normally maintained by the Farmer Kulling

Polititions have finished to the Majority of people who know diddly squit about the countryside or the Fox and a total ban on Hunting and a will soon be in place

The Hunt, nearly 100 animals chasing a Fox, probably 0-3 foxes are killed. No hunt, no Protecton from the Farmer 2 Farmers, 2 guns and 2 dogs will kill 10-20 and not just the ones running, but ALL.

Has anyone spare thought for the poor Fox after the Ban? the Fox will live happy ever after !! Polititions have signed a death/extermination Warrant for the Fox, without any measures in Place for it's future protection Total lunacy IMHO

Two years after the Ban, the Fox will be on the 'Red list' of endangered spiecies and Extinct in 5 years.

Sorry if I'm the odd one out, but they have had years to think this through and didn't

Regards,

Tony

Foxes are not "cruel" predators they are simply predators. Cruelty is a human activity that should not be applied to animals who operate on instinct.

Absolutely true that the hunt has no wish to wipe out foxes for obvious reasons, and it is true that in some places a gentlemans agreement exists between farmers and the hunt that farmers will not reduce the fox levels to ones where the hunt would become impossible to run. That is not to say that shooting of foxes is not happeneing right now in much larger numbers than those taken by the hunt. It is probably true that shooting of foxes would increase after a ban takes place but it is a bit much to suggest that farmers are some sort of bloodthirsty savages who once let off the leash will wipe out an entire species in a matter of years, which even if they tried would be impossible to do given the numbers of urban foxes in the country.

Almost agree with all of this! However, to be specific, it's the rural fox that faces extinction as no farmer is coming down my street with a fecking shotgun!

Well it's now the LAW that hunting *will* be banned in Febuary next year. The irony is that because it is at such short notice it will strengthen the case for the ban to be overturned by the European Court of Human Rights.

Tony is wearing his contright face as he wriggles on the hook of his own making LOL.

The Police will have the power to impound vehicles *and* animals found to be used in illegal hunts. That should be an amusing sight to see as they attempt to 'arrest' a pack of 50 hounds and horses.

What a crock of s**t New Labour are.
