That's totally out of context, its not even a close comparison. Soldiers are there for a purpose, well so GB/TB tells us. Joe bloggs falling off a ladder is an accident and unlucky, you can't mourn every unfortunate death. Forcing a soldier north to his death is hardly in the same category.

Right, so tragic accidents are being compared to a cynical political maneouvre that has lead to the needless deaths of 4 Black Watch troops? We would not be having this discussion if they'd been killed near their original base (as tragic as that would still be) in South Iraq.

Editted to add: How can you bring the WTC attack into this? So office workers have signed up to be the victims of terrorist attacks now?
