Laurel & Hardy springs to mind.....
Or maybe Morecambe & Wise.
Or perhaps Cannon & Ball.

Plus points;
Decent sized car park that should accomodate us plus overspill area if needed,
Large inside to pub with areas that can be roped off for "private use" if they are informed beforehand,
Decent priced menu (Brewers Fayre) with what look to be some reasonable choices (I've picked up a couple of menus if anyone wants a "flavour" of what's available,
"Fairly" close to FB so not much difference in area - good access from m-ways and Hudds / Wakey lot get some decent driving roads - directions a doddle for Holmfield Arms crowd
Kids allowed and technically 10:30 limit but bloke behind bar said not a problem as long as they are well behaved / not running around shouting (that rules out HB & Sticky then )
Minus Points:
Not a 2for1 pub unless something can be agreed between ours and their "top brass"
Likewise for discounts unless can be sorted...
Apple
PS The place I was trying to remember was the Walnut Tree outside Wakey.
PPS The Aspley in Huddersfield is also a Brewer's Fayre pub

WTF?
How the ferk did you end up with THREE sets of flaps? (Mud, Apple, calm down dear!)
...and the thingy-wattsit-majig sounds like it's just what I've been looking for, I'll take two.
There's gonna be **** all left of the car to trade in at this rate.
What's the tyres like? Wheels? Mats? Airbags? Battery? Boot carpet? Cig lighter?

Ere, what have I said recently to garner so much grief
You try and help people and what do you get?
at least I haven't tried peddling dodgy boy bands onto innocent folks...
now, where's my Father Abraham and the little blue fellas album
pity it's not on cd or you could have listened on a meet...
PS Black Bull has Mr. ST Ella on tap rather than the Froggy 17th century rubbish at the FB

I think you'll find they had to put the boot where it is, 'cos some Twonk in the factory stuck the engine in the wrong end. It's a wonder the bl00dy thing doesn't spin out on every corner

What about the Trading post pub at whitwood J31 M62 - its the other side of the roundabout to the village but is cheaper, it has some meal offers certain days of the week and has a kids play area inside and out. Ive eaten here a couple of times and the food is very good also the play area is great (for the kids not me !!)
Just an idea - oh and its only 2 mins from my house but that wasnt a deciding factor (honest).

How's about we say 'sod it' to the discounts and nominate a different pub each and every month. We could carry on like that indefinitely, or do it for twelve months and then plump for a favourite on a more permanent basis.
Just a thought... back to work...

Only problems with not having a permanent base are:-
1. Potential problems in all meeting up at the right place on the relevant meeting date. Also, difficult for newbies to find us.
2. Can we be sure of a positive reception from landlord & staff?
3. Will we always know what the food is like?
4. It will need someone to 'research' (hic!) each place to check that our meetings don't clash with other events that they might have, and to ensure that kids are welcome in the bar (which is the only problem with the FB, IIRC....)

Part timer? Moi?
Would love to be at each meet! Unfortunately other commitments prevent this!!!
Balck Bull in Midgley is axtually on my route home form training, thus making it ideal!
Seriously though I have been a number of times and :-
a) the food has always been good
b) the staff always seem friendly enough
c) the food always tends to come pretty quickly
I am also open to the venue being moved every month as Sticky suggested. As long as it is posted well enough before hand people should have no probs finding it. Unless that is you are $hit with directions like me and could get lost from back door to garage! (Imagine how long it took me to find ScoobyClinic!!! )
Saying this though some landlords and / or regulars may not be happy with 20+ rally / sports cars (Supra's / Ferrari's are no rally cars!) rocking up and disturbing their darts and doms evening!
Just my 2p worth
Cheers

Just slightly concerned about Albert and Reginald having a sweat on when we arrive in tha car park. Like you say, we don't want 'em spilling their half of mild....
