1, Why did you choose a Wagon instead of a Saloon?

I needed the room to carry stuff, and I didn't want an in-yer-face big spoiler.

2, What have you done with your Wagon that you could not do in a saloon? (please be careful how you answer this!!)

carried four people and climbing expedition gear, TV, lawn mower, bicycles... all sorts!

3, Is your wagon a stealth machine or an 'in yer face' Scooby.

hmm... semi stealth? (de-tangoed, H&S exhaust, RB5 wheels, mesh foglight covers and STI front splitter...) other mods are hidden.

4, Do you wave at other Scoobies?

of course!

5, Do other Scoobies wave at you?

some do, some don't.

6, Would you buy me some new wheels for my wagon?

sorry - and I just got rid of my gold 16" set, too!

3, Stealth or should that be standard?

4, Yes

5, Sometimes

6, Only if you buy me a mapped ECU and full exhaust system.

1. I prefer the look of the wagon, I never considered a saloon.

2. I could put my dogs in if ness, but use my Legacy estate for that, the wagon is for fun and what fun it is.

3. Stealth but have a few plans for mods, hopefully in the not to distant future.

4. Yes

5. Sometimes

6. No am saving for some more for mine.

Would love to post some pics but need to ask my son to show me how, I will as soon as I can.

1. It was black (essential colour for a car), auto transmission and less than 20 minutes away from me.

2. Moved house, stacked it up with wheels, bumpers and various other parts.

3. In yer face, I'd say.

4. Occasionally.

5. Yep.

6. 'fraid not. But when you do some buy some wheels make they're going to clear standard Subaru 4 pots, because those brakes really need upgrading.

Here's mine. A work in progress with its temporary livery.

Jimmy Dell,
Good looking car and with an auto box....not many of us around, unless you know better.
What's your opinion of the auto transmission?
I would say mine was stunning specially on kickdown!!!

Thanks Big G.

There's a few auto classic WRX owners on here, but you're right you don't tend to see one too often. I may be wrong, but I think Projuicer's wagon is an auto as well?

Have no problems with the auto transmisson. It handles my full decat and 15.5psi ScoobyECU map well. Car is due for some more upgrades early next year so I'll see what the transmission makes of those as well.

I play in a band and couldn't fit all of my gear in a saloon

1, Why did you choose a Wagon instead of a Saloon?
Cause it's rarer, less nickable, handles better, is generally better cared for, is bigger and more practical and has the only leather interior I saw

2, What have you done with your Wagon that you could not do in a saloon? (please be careful how you answer this!!)
Roofbox went straight onto roofbars when camping, dog goes in boot

3, Is your wagon a stealth machine or an 'in yer face' Scooby.
Stealthy, apart from exhaust

4, Do you wave at other Scoobies?
Always

5, Do other Scoobies wave at you?
Sometimes

6, Would you buy me some new wheels for my wagon?
I will give you my wheels if you buy me a new set of 17's - can't say fairer than that

Well Jamie, what can I say,..I've had a photo of your Wagon on my P.C. as a background for a while now.
It's really good of you to join in with the spirit of this thread.
I have decided that your Wagon is definitely not a stealth Wagon and you give a new meaning to the expression 'fast take off'.

...big-g & jimmy-dell you are right - mine is an AUTO and it's perfect for the car (don't tend to rip as it's a cruise car NOT a racing car) - the scary cocktail sound (blitz 5" with turbo xs dump valve) is unbelievable when driving on short roads - sounds as though a typhoon is approaching (constant gear - no change)!!! BUT the MPG is shocking: £40 = 130miles!

Got an MY98 Turbo wagon:

1: The wife wanted me to get a wagon for practical reasons plus I prefer hatchbacks and also prefer the looks of the wagon.

2. Had the back seats down and carried stuff you could only dream of carrying in a saloon.

3. Not too sure....you decide

I've also had the windows tinted since the pictures, to keep the UV rays off my baby.

4:Yes

5: Yes

6: Fraid not bud!!

1, Why did you choose a Wagon instead of a Saloon?

More room, looks better than the ikea coffee tabled saloons IMHO and is less appealing to oiks wanting to nick it.

2, What have you done with your Wagon that you could not do in a saloon? (please be careful how you answer this!!)

Picked up a load of 6x2 sawn timber in 10ft lengths, moved a chest of drawers, taken loads of rubbish to the tip, the list goes on and on.

3, Is your wagon a stealth machine or an 'in yer face' Scooby.

Stealth, but the exhaust kinda gives it away

4, Do you wave at other Scoobies?

Always

5, Do other Scoobies wave at you?

Of course, except the new age travellers (snobs)

6, Would you buy me some new wheels for my wagon?

I have a set of truck tyres you can have in my yard at work

These are versatile load luggers, stealthy with a good turn of speed. Fantastic all weather ability although caution is required in the snow. Ideal if you have a dog and want to keep the rear seats for people Any load can be kept out of sight. The roof rails allow you to carry even more awkward loads, like my canoe that is longer than the car.
When I first had the WRX lots of other Scooby drivers waved and I reciprocated but as these cars have become more popular this practice is less common.
What are the incentives to buy you a set of wheels?
Here are two stealth cars:

I have always prefered the wagon for road use don't know why really, done some very subtle mods: clear lense protectors (head and fog lights), prodrive stone guards and black plastic bumper protector, and that's it.
