Well I placed my order with Harvey on Monday, kit arrived today.
For someone who doesn't do this for a living, all I can say from my experience in dealing with Harvey - the service is top class.

Ordered an FMIC from Harvey yesterday morning after a LOT of technical advice, not just to do with the intercooler. Paid cash into Barclays when I was in town at lunch time. A big box with the kit, a packing list and instructions arrives at 10:30 this morning.
Sent an e-mail to say thanks and now discover I can have it fitted, same day, this Friday for not a lot of money if I want. Great 'cos it saves me the hassle and it is done and dusted.

Hmm..really takes all the fun out of it then does'nt it...
I spent 2 weeks in the garage, late nights, cutting bits of metal off my car, grinding away other, in the end had the bumper sprayed and a new splitter ordered and sprayed
Never enjoyed myself so much in my life...

Oh the tool i made use of the most was a Angle grinder...

Sam : The easiest way to cut the bumper is to make a cardboard template and the job becomes very easy. You should not need to use a grinder and I don`t think I have ever used anything more than tin snips.
Also I fit a black plastic trim round the cut edge which makes it very professional and there is absolutely no need to look at repainting the bumper.
I am now offering a same day fitting service, assuming the car is already fitted with an after market cone filter kit so this might appeal to those who don`t want to fit their own.

The bumper cutting becomes easy with a jig saw and template and the black edge trim sets it off.

Hi Steve : Seeing as how you have asked me I will give you my thoughts but I suspect you will not be happy.
Fitting an APS cold air kit is a great idea if :
1) You wish to reduce your engine output.
2) You wish to increase the possibility of an engine mishap.
Three years ago this February I fitted an APS cold air kit to my STi 6 Wagon with 14,000 miles on the clock. It was a cold damp February morning and 11 miles later number 2 piston picked up in the bore, necessitating an engine rebuild / rebore / etc..This was the beginning of my odyssey into Subaru tuning and modification.
I had no AFR meter or knock link at that time and clearly the AFR to number 2 cylinder was so much affected that the mishap took place.
Had the APS instructions clearly stated, unambiguously that the MAF would need re-calibration and a re-map would be essential then this mishap would never have taken place. I did discuss the matter with Peter Luxton MD of APS as I already had other contact with them, totally unrelated and at the time they denied any knowledge of what the problem could be.
Now in conjunction with Bob Rawle we concluded after some months that because there is a 90 degree bend in close proximity to the MAF unit, then the MAF was not getting a true reading of the air flow. I would have thought that an honest, competant manufacturer of tuning equipment that knew what they were doing, that was getting customer feedback would have known this and I am sure that I will have been one of many people to suffer a mishap before the situation was fully understood.
So if you are fitting one of these kits you need Andy to re-calibrate your MAF and you have to go to the expense of a remap.
If you are running without a MAF then a remap is in order in any case.
2) Chris Davies who was at G-Force, being an Australian had quite a lot of knowledge of APS products . I attended a rolling road day and wiped the floor with all other Subarus with something like 417 bhp. Chris suggested to me that the induction system might be strangling the engine.
A few days later I took the APS kit off, which incidentally was not a good fit in the first place, and after discussion with K+N replaced it with a larger filter, shorter inlet tract and segregated cold area for the filter to breathe in. I returned to G-Force and produced something like 434 bhp so 17 bhp for a filter change. Bob Rawle then mapped the car and I went back to G-Force to produce over 450 bhp. So something like 33 bhp from a filter change and remap. This all took place over a ten day period from my first to third visit to G-Force.
The filter that APS were using at that time was a GA RU - 3130. Believe it or not this is rated by K+N at only 185 bhp. I have no idea if this is the filter that APS still use but it does demonstrate what they are about.
I cannot say for sure if that filter would still go in the inner wing along with the FMIC pipework carrying the charged air from the turbo to the FMIC. You would only know once you tried it and I expect that with a bit of mucking about and cutting the inner wing to produce a larger hole it would be possible.
Surely your best solution is to put the APS cold air kit in the bin, you could always sell the miniature filter to someone with a 150 bhp Nova and then do similar to what I have done for Alan Bell. You will get best power with a shorter inlet tract of suitable diameter, as straight as possible and on Alans car I used carbon fibre and insulation material to segregate an area between the chassis rail and inner wing so that it only could breathe cold air. Air was also encouraged into the inner wing and hence into the cold area. Why not have a word with Alan Bell.
If you want this sort of modification let me know.

I turned up about 20 minutes late on Friday morning and the car was being worked on almost straight away. The agreed price was £180 and we had already discussed all the options. I already had my own K+N cone filter. I then decided to have a Forge recirc fitted and if there was adequate time the cone filter would be segregated with a carbon fibre and insulated panel.
I was then given a lift into Darlington to explore the shops and was picked up about 3.30. The job was already done but there had not been time to do the cold air divider. Lots of clutter in the way. A template had been made so it is just a matter of going back some time when I am in the area.
Pretty impressive service and considering the work done and the convenience of it I am well pleased.

There is a spiggot on the chrome pipe to the throttle body. On to this you can put either a straight rubber pipe to act as a joiner to the BOV or as I have done, a 90 degree silicon pipe. i am using a recirculating BOV.

Thanks Harvey, ill post one up. Basically im asking if it comes with fittings for attatching standard recirc, or will I have to get some extra pipe? Can you supply extra pipe if needed? I hate buggering around with cars now, but sounds straight forward.

If you are talking about fitting the MY99/00 OEM DV then you will need an adaptor similar to the MRT one to convert your DV to a simple pipe fitting rather than bolt-on.

Jap-Innovations have these for about £35, or you could get one made quite easily.
